Are we getting mugged or did Como get an unreal deal to start! 12:52 - Aug 14 with 2375 views | gmanrom | €2m they paid for him, never played a game for them now they've charged us a €2m loan fee and depending on which reports you believe close to €15 obligation is we're promoted. That sounds a horrendous deal on our part to me

Are we getting mugged or did Como get an unreal deal to start! on 12:57 - Aug 14 with 2158 views | vilanovablue | The underlying data must clearly be spectacular and if he has a fantastic season with us that figure becomes much less of a worry. In our position we need to take some calculated risks as players albeit in a different position such as Hackney are so hard to attract, see also Guiu.

Are we getting mugged or did Como get an unreal deal to start! on 12:57 - Aug 14 with 2122 views | _clive_baker_ | TWTD reporting £430k loan fee and £9m obligation. The loan fee is peanuts, the obligation isn't. An option would've been preferable as Sassuolo have got on Muric to retain the element of choice. I suppose the fact its only on promotion means if he's a complete flop we've at least got Premier League money to help unwind it and get him out on loan somewhere. Hopefully we've got a high level of conviction and have done our homework on him and he rips up the Champ this season.
Are we getting mugged or did Como get an unreal deal to start! on 12:58 - Aug 14 with 2103 views | BarcaBlue | Reports here say he has a buy out clause of 10 million euros in his contract so the 15 million may be inflated by add-ons, guesswork,, or may have come from his agent via the parasite Fabrizio. Decent all the same for Como and decent for us too if he plays his part in promotion.

Am I right in thinking with the obligation. That they are always based on the involvement of the player. So for example if he got injured for a lot of the season and didn't really help us to promotion then we aren't then obligated to buy him despite earning promotion.

Are we getting mugged or did Como get an unreal deal to start! on 13:01 - Aug 14 with 2007 views | Swansea_Blue | You’re quite a bit over on the reported fees. It’s still quite an inflated markup based on his last transfer though, so let’s hope Brighton’s data gurus know what they’re doing.

I'm sure some are nuanced, but fundamentally they're generally a commitment to purchase if we go up. On that basis if we're promoted we're already on the hook for c. £25m+ for Cajuste, Akpom, Kipre and the new Pablo.
Are we getting mugged or did Como get an unreal deal to start! on 13:04 - Aug 14 with 1910 views | braveblue | €500 loan fee reported. If he is successful and we get promoted then we pay a £12m fee for a proven player. What on earth is the problem?!!!
Are we getting mugged or did Como get an unreal deal to start! on 13:11 - Aug 14 with 1762 views | jayessess | Azon was down to 6 months on his contract and not going to renew, so that €2m is a knockdown price to get whatever they could for him. So, Zaragoza the ones getting mugged. [Post edited 14 Aug 13:14]

What happens if we get promoted but he turns out to be rubbish? Are we 100% committed to buy, or is that not confirmed.

Its a obligation to buy. We're promoted, we've bought him.

Are we getting mugged or did Como get an unreal deal to start! on 13:28 - Aug 14 with 1515 views | Everydayblue | We can see how light we are in attacking areas. Guess Ashton just got the green light to spend a bit extra and get it done before we resort to panic buying/loaning in the last few days of the window. (Ahadme style).... He's been on our radar all window. We did what we had to do to land one of our top targets. Imo.

That's not the case. Valencia pulled out of their offer yesterday making a move to us a possibility.

Yeah, but who is better. Akpom or the new Pablo? Additionally, isn't the main reason we got Akpom because his salary hiked up due to Ajax Champions League qualification despite him not really helping much to achieve it!? [Post edited 14 Aug 13:42]

I think there is a buyout as seen with Sancho and Chelsea, but I can’t imagine we’d want to pay £xm to not sign him unless he turns out to be truly woeful.

Also much lower risk if you get promoted for obvious reasons. We could have had smaller fees on permanent deals with high wages.

Are we getting mugged or did Como get an unreal deal to start! on 17:06 - Aug 14 with 424 views | PhilTWTD | I would guess the fee Como are reported to have paid is getting conflated with what we're paying. Fabrizio's numbers are different to most other reports. I'm sure we might learn more the closer we are to the deal being rubberstamped.
