Please can we win the next couple of games... 16:39 - Aug 17 with 1639 views | tonybied | ...so all the absolutely, over the top, massive flouncers can fook off back under the rocks they've appeared from. The constant need for turning almost every thread into negativity is tiring at the minute. It's sapping my enjoyment of being here somewhat.

I perhaps was a bit hasty. I've been having a BBQ since the McKenna interview and a lot of the comments at that point were still rather negative. The first couple of threads I clicked on after still had some of the usual suspects sh*tting their selves, and all over those threads too. Most of the others I've looked at since have been more positive. Still, there's too much of it at the minute, it now seems to have shifted from the performance, to the results and now to the transfer business.

Please can we win the next couple of games... on 17:59 - Aug 17 with 1317 views | Illinoisblue | Just been the usual post match discussion; mostly sensible but with a few overly negative simpletons along with some overly OTT “everything is wonderful” optimists. This is football and always will be.

But everything is wonderful isn't it? The club was on its backside just 5 years ago. Blue Action having to force Evans' hand. We're now putting in a record bid for one of the best U19s in Europe and by all accounts beating PSV to him. We have dealt with two difficult opening fixtures. Played some great stuff today second half. We're going to be competitive at the top of the league. These are the good times!

Please can we win the next couple of games... on 18:17 - Aug 17 with 1210 views | SomethingBlue | I would be surprised if there was much flouncing. We all know what is needed in the remainder of the transfer window. But on the pitch we’ve come through two of the season’s biggest tests intact and have shown clear signs that we should be ok. Better than we’ve seen from plenty of parachute teams in our situation at this point.

There’s loads of balanced stuff on here. with people going too far in either direction along with some awful takes thrown in. Massive flounces from under rocks? Get over yourself, it’s not been the best start to the season and it’s hardly been all doom and gloom on here. It’s football, there will be opinions. Some justified, some clueless, just ignore it or counter it but it won’t ALL be positive after our summer either. [Post edited 17 Aug 18:19]

Please can we win the next couple of games... on 18:19 - Aug 17 with 1185 views | itfckenty | Tbh, I think some teams won't keep this up, so our two draws won't look so bad down the line. I'd rather the two draws this early, than the two losses. And while today was better, it's not been a strong start, but that can usually be a good thing.

That rather glosses over the last 15 months or so doesn’t it? You could just as easily say: - The club was top of the league with 2 wins from 2 just 2 years ago, and looking forward to an opening day fixture v Liverpool this time last year - We’ve lost our captain, top scorer and best player from last season, amongst other departures. We’ve had a player start both games in CM who hasn’t been deemed good enough to start the past 2 seasons - We are winless and have been dumped out of the cup by a League Two side - We are not going to get promoted resulting in further sales and us dropping further down the table Obviously most of that is facetious, I think our start was largely been fine under the circumstances and do expect us to be challenging at the top end - but it’s fairly mad to act like everything is still amazing when much of the last year has been fairly miserable to watch!

So sensitive on here and the up votes are from a lot those I would expect to the OP, everyone was fairly pleased with yesterday and I'd imagine everyone has some concerns over our squad depth. It's not been the best 2025 if we are being completely honest. Yesterday after the game was fine on here.

Can I begin by saying I really liked Colin Healy. Underrated! Re the optimism.. Obviously it's not all sweetness and light - we had a tough season last year and we've lost key players as you say. But you've also said it yourself: 'I think our start has largely been fine... Expect us to be challenging at the top end'. I mean that's something we would have killed for during the barren years! The club is in rude health, we know we will be at the top challenging, we have a great young manager and exciting players. Look at the transfer targets we're being linked with! I guess what I'm trying to say is we could be Blackburn couldn't we - we know what that's like, but we're miles from that now. Which is sad in itself, the game has become so dependent on having serious investment to compete but we have won the lottery on that so to speak. I also think it depends how you view last year. I actually thought we gave a fairly decent account of ourselves. Can't remember many games where we got trounced. We tried to play good football and in the first half of the season at least did okay. We were a league one side promoted to the PL in two years. I can't think of a more difficult task really in the game. Remember PJ watching the dvd? We're so far from that that I think everything is amazing really!
