I think we just have to get promoted. I don't much mind how. Getting the right players in is the key. Some of the loanees we will be able to/have to buy if we go up. So the problem only comes if we don't go up, and the key to that is getting the /right/players in. |  | | |

I disagree, I think the club are playing it well. If we get promoted, then we have already committed to many 10s of millions of spending due to the clauses in the loan players' agreements. No point in overcommitting, remember our income has shrunk, and also we did a lot of our business in the previous two transfer windows.
Having said all that, with both Broady and Omari now gone, I expect to see some decent money spent. That Norwegian kid looks interesting, plus once the Premier League squads are finalised, we will know what else is available for both purchase and loan. Good to keep some of our powder dry until then. |  |

Loans with options/obligations to buy is very sensible IMO.
Low risk/high reward - don’t go up then we’re not financially screwed and if we do go up we’ve got the players. |  |

If I recall correctly, the email said "£100m of player sales". Regardless of whether this does or does not mean "potential" or "imminent", this in no way means "£100m profit" as you just wrote - after amortisation, sell on fees, player investment, etc etc etc any profit would be nowhere at all close to that figure. Keeping on the right side of FFP, or whatever it’s called these days, is a must and going the loan route with an obligation to buy if we get promoted where we can, but not being landed with massive fees if we don’t, seems a sensible way of going about things.
We clearly are prepared to splash the cash if we have to but why take unnecessary risks if we don’t. |  | | |
