Everyone moaning about the window being poor.
We announce a few (in my opinion) average signings in McAteer, Furlong, Azon.... this keeps people happy as we all want signings, ANY signings!!
Then we have a genuine good one (Nunez), which we are made to wait for.... but it happens!! Yesssssssss!!
Suddenly its a great window!!
Mind you if Sindre gets over the line, then it is indeed a great window!

I think Egeli and maybe James or similar and you ave to say tis has been a very good window. It leaves us with a fantastic team for "the level" as football hipsters love to say. Firmly cements us as promotion favourites.

We’ve spent £11m on a 23 year old Ireland international with good prem and Champ experience in McAteer who we think we can develop, £8m on Azor, £7.5m on Nunez, got Cajuste back, kept hold of Davis, O’Shea, McKenna and others. Akpom on loan from Ajax fending off rivals, look to be dropping £17m on one of the brightest young prospects Egeli, got a young Spain U21 forward on loan with La Liga experience, some solid and experienced defensive reinforcements in Kipre & Furlong for relatively little money.
I think the first few results has probably dictated a bit of the narrative, but realistically only 1 of them was poor. Time our supporters left any negativity at the door if there is any and gets behind this group. Give McKenna the respect he deserves after what he’s done here and the time, support and patience to work with this squad. We’ll be much better for it.
Hopefully 3 points tomorrow, get into this international break and our season can properly get going. |  | | |

I suspect you maybe right about the spending if we go up again. There will be a difference, though. This time it will probably be spent on less players but ones of a higher calibre.
If this team works well, it will it will undoubtedly be a much higher base level than the last promotion team. That will allow us to concentrate on adding more "stardust" rather than trying to bring the whole level of the team up. |  | | |

It depends how you are judging the signings. There's two aspects for us as a Club.
Can they help us return to the Prem and how can we develop them with a view to on selling at a profit.
During the window so far, we have added a lot of experience, guile and quality that could help us return to the prem (albeit Young and Furlong may have little re-sale value).
We've also signed (and are about to sign) a couple of players that may well fall into that later category, as does McAteer to be honest as well.
If we add in the likes of Matsi who is already starting to look part of the furniture, it's hard to argue that it's been anything but successful.
I said earlier in the week - if we add a striker and a replacement for Hutch - then it's been a very good window. Ivan is in the door and hopefully Egeli today/ tomorrow, add to that Nunez.
We'll see some leave and, I don't think we've seen incomings finished yet either. |  |

I would argue the better players always take longer. Look at Isak, L'pool have offered a ridiculous £120m weeks ago, but still Isak is a Newcastle player.
We offered a ridiculous £20m for Hackney, but still he plays for Boro.
Look at Omari, and how long that dragged on
The better players will always have options, including clubs want to keep their better players. But football is a business, and every player has a price. That 'price' works in both directions, remember if you're selling a player at £40m and want a replacement of the same calibre, it's going to cost you £40m (well approx), unless you go for cheaper potential.
You then have other factors, ideally you might want to keep player A, but a good option could be available and if you want them you have to move quickly.
Then throw in the sudden unplanned, Townsend was a perfect cover for Leif, I'm sure Tiwn weren't planning on any LB activity in this window, the injury changed.that.
I'm not a ITK but the impression I get re Axel is he had given the impression he was going to stay this season, and then changed his mind

Yes, all of this for me. There was far too much turnover last season, which lead to there being a lot of turnover this season.
Should be go up, I would expect the addition of 3 or 4 quality players. |  |

Touch harsh - he fits the mould of a player we can develop and sell at a profit.
KM clearly likes what he sees in McA and I get why - arguably a better fit than say Clarke. | |
