If it was truly about nothing other than national pride, surely those behind it (Führage, Tommy Ten Names et al.) would be speaking out against incidents like these:

You think? Jenwick is a current member of the shadow cabinet.

Yes. Sadly, under Badenoch, and with the likes of Jenrick, the pass has already been sold and the Tory rhetoric mirrors that of Reform.

What a desperately shallow and ambitious man Jenrick (who voted to Remain) is.

He really is the sort of person who would sell his own Grandmother.

No, Keir. You pour oil on troubled waters, not on a f**king dumpster fire.

Stop enabling these knuckle-draggers, grow a pair, and call them out for f**k sake.

Imagine being such a smooth-brain that you're buying into the rhetoric that this is about nothing more than national pride, despite the fact that the only flags flying in my locality have been erected directly in front of the local asylum hostel, as well as on every lamp post within its car park.

Aren’t we all proud of our country?

Suggest you read the story of Weoley warriors which will help to educate.

What on earth is there to be proud of? We are a pariah in Europe, laughed at by the rest of the world, and slowly descending into civil unreast because a minority of idiots don't like brown people.

In my town they're on the roundabout outside Tesco. I guess the "knuckle-draggers" are targetting Tesco now?

The name does sound a bit foreign I guess? Maybe Hispanic?

Actually, I know to the answer to this having worked in Tesco as a student!

jack Cohen formed the name from TE Stockwell (His trading partners) and the first two letters of his surname (Co) - the business started as a market stall in the East End in the early 20th Century.

He isn’t thick at all - on here he has shown that he can be quite considered, articulate and caring.

However in order to supply the board with a ready supply of bantz, he’s defending a movement (or whatever it’s called) which is deep-rooted in, and promoted by the far-right. Nothing wrong with national pride but when it’s mixed in with xenophobia and outright hatred then that’s when it becomes an issue.

In life, you need some sort of moral compass but Blueas has shown that his one is broken. A shame, a real shame, but that’s life.

What with Yvette Cooper proudly denying family reunion opportunities for refugees, it makes you really proud that we pander to racists doesn’t it .

I suspect Labour are toast. The Little Englanders won’t vote for them whatever and their larger liberal base is being alienated more by the week.

Aping racist rhetoric and adopting right wing gimmicks always works, Labour just need to do more of it. Look at the polls, the tougher Labour sound the more popular they become whilst Reform continue to tank, and they whole country just calms down.

That won't happen until they lose the next election. Labour got in on a mandate of getting illegal immigration under control (Smash the gangs) and gained a lot of votes on that promise. KS has made little inroads in stopping the gangs so in order to appease the voters who expect results he's expanding his policies to find other ways to say "Look! I am bringing down the numbers".

Do you honestly believe that Labour gained a significant number of votes due to their promise to "smash the gangs"? I seriously doubt that.

Oi! I’m the one with the sarcasm avatar lol

It’s so obviously not working as seen in polls and local election results. I don’t understand how they can’t see that unless it’s as simple as them being authoritarian racists (or at least xenophobes). Which sounds unlikely, but it’s where the evidence takes us.

Yes I do, and it was a big factor in people turning away from the tories as they'd failed to effectively get it under control. There's probably opinion polls out there to back that up but CBA to go look.

Why do you insist on living in some bubble where the general public's concerns about immigration dont exist?

I don't live in that bubble at all, I just find the idea that voters who's primary motivation was stopping asylum seekers from crossing the channel voted Labour in significant numbers unlikely.

I don't mate. I think that anyone with serious concerns about immigration will look at Labour's recent rhetoric as simply reinforcing their beliefs and then vote for the party who they know represents their views. Which is reform.

They know that Starmer doesn't really believe the nonsense he's coming out with.

According to a yougov poll I looked at - failing to get a grip on immigration was the second biggest reason people gave for not voting Tory at the last election (after internal division and infighting at number 1). I think those with more extreme views defected to Reform and those with lesser extreme views but still wanting better control over immigration defected to Labour (based on Keir Starmer's promise to Smash The Gangs). I fell into the latter category - had enough of Tories but didnt want to see Farage as PM either and willing to see if Labour could do a better job,.
