… what is going on.

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

McK being utterly ruthless here. I…..like it? I think.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
Poll: With Evans taking 65% in Huddersfield, is the Banter Era over?

What an absolute shambles this summer has been.

Loan just makes no sense to me. Only plus side is he can't play against us, but a loan? Surely he's worth keeping around if that's the alternative. Had we got £6m for him you might say OK, fair enough he's dropped down the pecking order take the money.

He's gone on loan and his contract is up at the end of the season? Just bizarre and a lack of foresight IMO.

How do you work that out then?

If we're letting him go... surely we're bringing someone else in?

Don't like this one bit.

Yes, if we got good money a la Broadhead (albeit not on that scale) you could *just about* stomach it. But LOANING him out?! He started on Saturday FFS. I assumed that was a statement to say "you're still part of the furniture Chappers".

My *only* thought is that another central 10 has become available on loan...?

Agreed. McKenna has shown a real lack of foresight in bringing in and preferring players who are not as effective. When Chappers plays, you can see him trying to move things on quickly as we used to do. But now we're slow and ponderous. The dream has well and truly died.

Szmodics, Akpom and potentially Egeli can all play there so don't think we necessarily need a replacement but whether any of those can hit the level Chappers did for us remains to be seen

Would be absolutely gutted to see him go

We surely can’t be going with Szmodics and Akpom as our 10 options?

I think the ruthlessness was last year when the legends were all replaced.

We probably have 'better' players now, but no team spirit.

So odd to me, as you say he started on Saturday and now we're loaning him out until the end of his contract.

28 years old, 13 goals at this level last time out, surely there's a few million to be had for him if we had the foresight a few weeks ago to look to move him on?

Don't get it.

When all our new signings are fit, does he maybe not even make the bench?

It appears ruthless, but maybe that is the discussion McKenna has had with him over game time?

If he’s on the last year of his deal, surely this has to be worked out so it makes financial sense for us? Not just going to let him run out his contract at Pompey?

Obligation to buy?

Edit: No, no logic in that whatsoever.

But he would be on a free when that obligation comes in wouldn’t he?

If we sell for cash maybe but otherwise just de-register Harry Clarke!

I think this must largely be the case.

This window has left me completely disillusioned with the club and the season ahead. How to destroy such a good wave of momentum in such a short space of time.

Yes, realised that immediately afterwards. Unless there is some deal in place so they can have him on loan now.

Another player let go for free in thanks for the job done, akin to Morsy?

Starts a league game, loaned out 2 days later.. Were not getting any money for a player who seems a real leader on and off the pitch. I guess with Akpom and Szmods as 10's he's the 3rd choice when everyone is fit.
