In particular the section from 2:50 onwards. To think that this is the voice of an incredibly unwell man, having his body shut down before him.
When the band recorded the song in 1990, Mercury's condition had deteriorated to the point that May had concerns as to whether he was physically capable of singing it. May recalls; "I said, 'Fred, I don't know if this is going to be possible to sing.' And he went, 'I'll f**king do it, darling' — vodka down — and went in and killed it, completely lacerated that vocal".
Went to a wedding when I lived in the midlands - some mates were big blues fans and the younger brother was marrying a girl who was a Villa fan.
The best man's speech was basically
"We would like to welcome Sarah into our family, even though she comes from a family of Villa fans. So all I can really say is "Sh1111t, on the Villa..."
That night, there were ongoing punch ups at the reception. No idea if the marriage lasted but it wouldn't help having two families who basically hated each other.
What’s your funeral song? on 21:55 - Sep 4 by Chris_ITFC
You’ve all taken this far too literally. I was expecting completely inappropriate-for-a-funeral football songs to imagine!
“Always look on the bright side” isn’t just too literal - it’s also the tune them lot up the road use to sing about us!
Apologies for completely detailing the thread!
Addressing the song in your OP, my god I'd hate for my funeral to even say the N word, let alone devote a song to them. They are an irrelevance and if my life was that worthless that they deserve a song, I doubt there will be many people at my funeral.
Although you've ruined Always look on the bright side" for me. I'll have to just settle for Sousa as I slip behind the curtain now.

I frequently flip between what songs I find uplifting, shall we say for want of a better description and what songs I find are the most emotionally devastating for a funeral
Depends what mood I'm in.
