| People considering voting Reform 10:32 - Sep 9 with 24641 views | The_Flashing_Smile | When you hear these claims, even you must be thinking 'Oh come on, Nigel. You're doing well in the polls, don't blow it!'?! The first, that they would stop the boats IN TWO WEEKS. Farage has already rowed back on that (pardon the pun) and changed it to "once the laws are passed". But even then, with the best will in the world, that's obviously impossible. It's straight out of the Trump playbook - the claim that he'd stop the Ukraine war in 24 hours. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/art Secondly, this batsh!t nonsense... "A controversial doctor given top billing at the Reform party conference has used his main-stage speech to air a claim the Covid vaccine caused cancer in the royal family." https://www.theguardian.com/po Who on earth believes this stuff? Or are you so desperate for a change in yours/the country's circumstances that you just ignore the bonkers stuff? This is a genuine question, not intended to take the piss out of Reform sympathisers, because I just can't understand how this party is so - apparently - popular, when they come out with stuff like this. | |

No you can keep him. We've already legalised it in Co Leitrim. We just haven't got around to informing Dublin yet

Not sure why legalising a dangerous drug would win him votes, he'll probably u-turn on that one at some point.

| People considering voting Reform on 10:37 - Sep 9 by Juggsy | I think most people would be content with something tangible being done by the government to address the problems. If it takes Farage to spur some action from them, then I’m all for it. Just a shame the swivel-eyed Psycho Ed Milliband hasn’t been levered out of his role. He will bankrupt us. Ok, my post wasn’t the most succinct but at no point did I implicitly imply I wanted Farage or Reform in power but I like that the fact they are there is making the limp lettuce in charge actually do something about the issues instead of awkwardly shuffling off muttering his own slogans. I do stand by the point that Milliband as energy secretary will bankrupt us with net zero before everything. Perhaps wearezombies can add a nice clever Latin reply to this post. | | | |

| People considering voting Reform on 19:32 - Sep 9 by DanTheMan | It can be before the age of 25. However, the same can be said of alcohol and nicotine. |
nicotine's not a dangerous drug per se, but smoking as a method of delivery is very dangerous (and not just for the under 25s ...) [Post edited 9 Sep 2025 19:36]

| People considering voting Reform on 11:46 - Sep 9 by HairBearBunch | oh go on then - I'll trust that it really is a genuine question and not a leader for lets-bash-the-right. Unlike you gentlemen, I don't follow politics closely, so I let other people scrutinise evidence etc. I just want something to happen to drag us out the malaise. If Mr Farage is sounding like he might be the person to do that, then great, I'd be tempted. I'd hoped Mr Polanski might be that person too, but there's enough financial woes around without him making it worse imo. So I just want something to happen. Anything, really. Just some blinking action, something and someone different. |
"I just want something to happen....anything" And that in all it's ignorant glory is why Frarridge is a genuine threat. People given a vote but without a scoobydoo what to do with it.

It impacts brain development in a negative way when the brain is still developing. Can get you sources if you wish but a quick Google should show you.

nicotine or cannabis? fair enough either way, the harm of smoking is not to be overlooked though!

Both, unfortunately. They screw up brain development. And indeed, it can't.

| People considering voting Reform on 21:05 - Sep 9 with 1821 views | itfcsuth | Two weeks post legislation being passed is probably a more realistic sentence to be fair to him. They all spout lovely sound bites, “smash the gangs”, nonsense. “Stop the boats”, nonsense. The reality is there does need to be action in this country to address illegal immigration, and I suspect the next general election will be won on that, and it quite possibly will be Nigel Farage. | | | |

Is it really "a dangerous drug" though? I guess it depends how you define dangerous.

In a small number of users, particularly younger people it can cause severe psychosis, so yeah its a dangerous drug. Particularly the strong strains you get now that have a high THC content.

Severe mental health problems. Futhermore, countless times you hear of someone committing atrocities were under the influence of cannabis at the time - correlation is not causation but studies need to be done. [Post edited 9 Sep 2025 23:43]

If it's only "in a small number of users" then I'd say it's not a particularly dangerous drug. Lots of people have a severe reaction to nuts but you wouldn't call them a "dangerous drug".

Nuts are a massive problem. They get you with peanuts as a gateway nut and before you know it you’re sneaking out of the house with Brazil nuts in your pocket. Just say no

Action like being the first country to establish a sanctions regime targeting people smugglers? (As reported in the fascinating sounding Journal of Export Controls and Sanctions ) https://www.worldecr.com/news/
