Fair play Steve Evans 10:40 - Sep 12 with 2016 viewsfranz_tyson

Steve Evans has lost 6 1/2 stone (41.2 kg) in six months through swimming/walking regime.

Sure some will say it's down to Ozempic, but seems like he's been working hard to lose weight. Fair play to him.... we can't really call him a fat c#nt anymore.

Was it Mick McCarthy who said something about him only exercising his mouth?

Good on him. Ironic though isn't it that he's worked in football for so long with health & fitness staff around the clubs every day and its only when he's sacked he gets in better shape.

Good for him.

I'm on mounjaro. Couldn't care less what people think. It's always funny hearing "why not just eat a salad" from some barely functioning alcoholic or someone lighting up their 20th cigarette of the morning

Very impressive. Nice to hear a story like this in a world that is no very nice. He did look like he had a dangerous weight and he fixed it. I was never too keen on him. But fair play to him. Very inspirational.

I always quite like him. He epitomised to me what Alex Ferguson said about Dennis Law.

Ferguson made a short speech about how Law epitomised the Scotsman in his willingness to be brave and to travel to better himself – and also because “he’d start a row in an empty house.”

I kind of liked him because he was such a obvious hate figure and pantomime villian, yet never went away and kept on bouncing ( literally) back up again when he got his marching orders. His spats with Lambert amused me. I think he is a genuinely good lower league manager..... and I guess why he keeps on getting jobs.

How are you finding the mounjaro J2 ?
Genuine question as thought about it myself in January, but went down the Slimmers World route (again) and me and Mrs SSB have lost nigh on 8 stone between us in 7 months.
Respect to Evans and anyone else who can change their lifestyle habits so dramatically for the better.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

Most of my wife's friends are on monjaro. Monjaro has taken over from botox and tummy tucks as their lunchtime topic of conversation. To an extent it pisses my wife off as they all congratulate themselves about how great they look whereas my Mrs runs 30 miles a week and goes to the gym for her figure

I understand that it's good for people like yourself J2 who have struggled with their weight for some time and will use it over a long term, but these girls use it if as a quick fix if they have a wedding or something similar coming up. They are basically getting someone else to pose fr a photo by the scales as the company wouldn't supply it to them as they aren't in the BMI range.

Are you getting it through the NHS or do you have to pay? I read that it's gone up by twice the amount in the last month. Good luck to you

Amazing, congrats!

Mounjaro is a massive help. Only thing is it does make me feel slightly nauseous at times. Not often but it's there so I have to carry around some sugar free polos for whenever that feeling strikes. I have tried to come off it but it's a different world on it. The 'food noise' just disappears. That link between emotions and eating is not entirely severed but it's reduced so much it's very manageable.

I'm sure there is a lot of that.

I get it privately through Asda online doctor (a sub-brand of ZAVA pharmacy). It's quite expensive but luckily I was in the position to just set aside a chunk of savings to pay for 12-18 months.

The price increase is just going to lead to more people buying higher strength doses and 'micro dosing'

I don't want to be on it forever but not really bothered about admitting I need it right now.

Very mixed bag for me on mounjaro. It does work and it's a semi-miracle cure. But it also had some pretty horrible side-effects for me.

After losing complete control of my calorie intake through a combination of binge eating and overeating, I got to a very unhealthy weight. I did a course of Mounjaro From June to August.

I lost over a stone in my first 2 months - Great! I also felt full after very little food and wasn't compelled to snack - great!

BUT - I spent the first 3 days after each jab with no energy whatsoever - I just felt extremely lethargic. When I went up to the 2nd strength in month 2, I got horrendous indigestion constantly (absolutely foul sulphurous gas emmissions from both ends the majority of the day - which I had to manage with Pepto Bismol). And after my first injection of 3rd strength in month 3, I was HORRENDOUSLY sick (as in dry-wretching and couldn't even hold down water) - and spent the entire following day in bed completely out of it. At that point I decided to stop. As it happens, 2 days after that they announced the price hike, so perhaps I would have stopped regardless.

I've since put on half a stone and my cravings are back. I'm greatful for losing the weight but that stuff put me through hell. It might not be the same for everyone, but I couldn't put myself through that again. I've now bought myself a cheap walking treadmill and am going to the gym twice a week, plus trying to get out more for walks around the Suffolk countryside. Progress is slow and sometimes i do gain a little (intake still does outweigh expenditure some days) - but at least I don't feel horrendous and can enjoy my day to day life. So very mixed bag and certianly for me it wasn't the easy fix that some people make it out to be.

Top man - well said and well done.

It is socially acceptable to drink 2-3 bottles of wine on a night out and screw up your internal organs but fat people are being treated as pariahs these days.

It's quite amazing how many people in 'showbiz' are looking a lot thinner (and a bit weirder) on the telebox this year. And apparently nearly all of them have done it with a new strict exercise & fitness regime, not at all using any drugs, oh no. I will add it's nice to see people on here admitting they are trying these new drugs & being honest about it.

A friend of mine lost half his body weight (11 stone) in a year before Covid and then put it all back on again during the pandemic as eating was his way of dealing with stress and anxiety and as he was at home he snacked a lot.

Hope Steve can maintain his new weight and doesn’t go back to eating all the pies.
