Can KM turn this around? 17:21 - Sep 20 with 3002 viewsBouncebackIpswich

Shocking performance YET AGAIN today. A team lacking fluidity and attacking patterns, unable to string passes together and control games, toothless but also defensively fragile and this is despite having players on the pitch like Cajuste and Davis who are clearly far too good for the league.

A special shout out to Kasey Mcateer who would be overpriced at 120K, 12 mill in what world... He is woeful.

Having serious doubts about McKenna now, starting to look like a busted flush. Can he actually turn this around like we all assumed he would given a few games?

Sorry, you and Foghorn have got to get with the program. That is wet trolleys and hate along with ‘not as good as’. Lots of it. A league table of players to hound. Number one:

1. Greaves: he demanded the club pay money for him and replaced our footballing hero.
2. Philogene: a hat trick doesn’t save him. He cost loads is cr@p and didn’t want to be here.
3. Clarke: limp, shorts are too big, cost a lot of money. Useless. An ‘Ashton signing’ obviously.
4. McAteer: racing up the target list. Could be second for the treatment after Greaves soon. Give him more than five games? Sorry JD, he’s had his chance. Five minutes was all he needed to join the tophate list.

Patience, encouragement and support for our players? Nah, not here. That’s for other clubs. It’s much more effective to abuse, pressure and hopefully force players out. Fun too, for some.

Let’s all yearn for those happy days of 0-0s and the midfield powerhouses of Skuse, Douglas and Hyam. People were much happier than they are now.

Oh well, everyone is entitled to a view. It’s a forum in a free (mostly) country after all.

Have a good week

‘I’ve tried to be reasonable with my points’. Yeah, and Nelson’s got his eye back and the moon is made of cheese. Maybe the afternoon beers have got to you.

Anyhow, Div listed? Haha, I’ll try and live with the disappointment.

Div listing Churchman? Silly lad! Have you followed hiss posting history?

He’s mocking you because your post is unnecessarily and unreasonably negative.

Horrible but have wondered for quite a while has McKenna lost his way. We seem to have good players on paper but under performing on a regular basis. We seem to be slow pondous at times.
Lose to Portsmouth and Narwich toxic will be a understatement.

Not sure how you managed to watch that and conclude that Blackburn were awful, and if they were what does that make us

They were awful though. Only way they were going to score was through a penalty.

All the negativity. I must be the only person that thought the weather and pitch were a huge equaliser for Blackburn. Right from kick off it looked like the players were struggling to stay on their feet and it was hardly a pitch for slick passing football and a day where Philogene was going to run past people.

In the second half that pitch was unplayable and amazed the ref. took so long to stop play. Greaves was a red no argument but I would be interested to see how much contact there was for the penalty, Cantwell spent the whole match going to ground every time a player was near him.

Sigh.

They were not terrible signings. We got relegated and they came into a very tough situation and unsurprisingly didn't always fire. Can we just please get over the relegation? It was always a huge ask to stay up and we didn't disgrace ourselves.

Players, managers, staff are human beings.

Likewise teams are things that take time to build and shape and refine.

It's not a computer game. No team remains successful all the time. We're in a state of flux and had a challenging summer. There's no doubt that we will be top 6. I believe in KM and MA and the project.

It may be that we need another 21/22 season for KM to build and settle. If we don't get autos I would not be calling immediately for KM's head.

Everyone needs to calm down.

I agree with snippets of what you say. All I would add is that sympathy, patience and excuses diminish when people have been signed for 10 figure sums and are being paid double the annual living wage every week by a US pension fund.

It's not unreasonable to ask questions. We aren't slating £50k Wes Burns from Fleetwood.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Blackburn are a typical Lancastrian team. That was the perfect weather for them. A team wanting to play fluid football will always struggle.

It's definitely fair to ask questions but overall there are so many mitigating factors to this start.

KM has made it very clear that it's not all going to fire straight away.

Patience. Relax! We are out of 'le coach est parti' territory.

We aren’t controlling games. We have a issue in CM. Does Cajuste do enough?

I’d bring in Nunez from the start to replace him.

We should definitely question the performance of a team on a pitch which was deemed unsuitable for play.

No, I really want ITFC to succeed but it's been a crap start to the season barring last Friday and signs today point to that being an outlier but call me a budgie if it makes you feel better.

Fox for the record but a fan of the Town and it seems like many on this forum can't handle anything other than complete cult like approval of everything related to the club even when questions clearly need asking

That is so true haha, teams from that part of the country always seem to play a physical, agricultural style (Blackburn less than most I'd suggest) - Bolton, Preston, Accrington, Burnley all good examples - wonder why and if it is because of the weather?

OP: Thus is what you get when you have an almost complete squad overhaul. I thinknitll take most of the season forbthus new set if players to really get up and running. Personally I've written off automatic promotion now, unless there's a sug ufucznt turn around in form and results. Its not being negative, just realustic of wgere we are atm. My concerns are how patient will the owners be with Mckenna.

There are of course mitigating curcumstances that can be given as a defence, but its now something like 5 wins in 50 games. What manager survives that? At what point will the owners start to ask difficult questions?

Im not wanting our manager sacked. I like him. But as we are always told, it's a results industry these days and a humongous amount of money has been spent on two squads and we're currently 17th in the Championship. I think the pressure will start to build if we dont start getting some wins on the board over the next 3-4 games.

We created more when down to 10 men. Davis and Clark were lively.

We always need to have a rocket up the arse to get a reaction and start driving at teams though.

We've played one game with a whole different squad of players - one game and then we're away to a team that thinks they have every right also to be challenging at the top in atrocious conditions not conducive to playing anything like a passing game. So then the game becomes a lottery - the sort of Hereford v Newcastle or Colchester v Leeds situation - everything becomes wet, soggy, slippery, muddy and the skills diminish.
Just stop, look, learn and support your team. We'll be fine.
