Budgies-v-Baggies 19:10 - Oct 1 with 4136 views | NthQldITFC | Anyone else watching the extra-digitated piggy-fiddlers tonight for a heads up on what they'll bring on Sunday? Do we want the budgies to scrounge a point out of this to keep WBA closer? I personally think not, and that we can run WBA down anyway, but I am open minded. How does that song about "Where's the ball City?" go?

Budgies-v-Baggies on 20:36 - Oct 1 by Dubtractor | It's a weird game to watch. West Brom seem to be increasingly playing an extreme version of tika taka where it is a crime to even try and get near the opponents goal. |
Don’t spoil the hard-earned coach-by-numbers approach of the coaching staff. They spent hours reading the manual to get even this far. When they get to Chapter 73 things will start to look to look better . I’m obviously being a bit facetious and I know nothing compared to them, but it does feel like everything has to be prescribed these days. That lack of spontaneity people have mentioned on other threads certainly makes the game more predictable and boring. We remind me now of a Russell Martin team 😱 - we just have to take a goal kick exactly the same way each time, even if we give up trying to play out after 3 passes and then either Greaves or Palmer just hoofs it up to the opposition CBs (who turn the ball over of course as we don’t have numbers up the pitch). I find it dull, repetitive and ineffective. But on the flip side the stakes are high. If you try something different and it doesn’t work out the chances are you get punished and everyone’s on your back.

Budgies-v-Baggies on 21:04 - Oct 1 with 998 views | ArnieM | As poor as they are appearing tonight, the prospect of Sargent vs Greaves or O'Shea on the break ( as that'll be what happens i think), doesnt fill me with much optimism unfortunately Edit. On the flip side, take Sargent out of their side and look League One bound all day long. [Post edited 1 Oct 21:05]

Looks like McLean has gone off injured I'm not that impressed with Ronald. His scoring stats are worse than Jadens

More likely he'll score after 5 minutes and then they'll sit back and defend. We'll have 30 shots, one on target.

Budgies-v-Baggies on 21:45 - Oct 1 with 565 views | TRUE_BLUE123 | We know what they are going to do on Sunday. They will sit in to try and frustrate us and when they get it they will play that ball up to Sargent quickly. Our defenders have to be ready for that long ball forward. Sargent is a hell of a player and if you give him a sniff he can seriously hurt you. I expect us to have waves of attacking spells. We have to take our changes when they come.

Budgies-v-Baggies on 21:46 - Oct 1 with 548 views | Dubtractor | That was a horrible performance from West Brom. They literally made no attempt to attack for the whole second half. So much modern football is absolute toss to watch, so many games are just sterile, nothing happens.

They have a few tools that could cause us problems and clearly better away from home perhaps because they can play on the break, we are vulnerable to that ball over the top and being caught on the break when higher up the pitch All their recent stats away seem to suggest they surrender an incredible amount of shots on their goal but are reasonably resilient It's going to be an interesting afternoon, we are miles off top gear at the moment and that first goal seems to be crucial, given few teams are going to try and go toe to toe
