Didn’t they pay quite a bit to get him out of his Bristol City contract? I can’t see them pulling the trigger yet, presumably he’s got at least another 5 games. Not looking good though.

Oh well what a shame.

If they sack him, knapper is basically making his own job untenable as well so can see them persevering for a while yet

It would be amusing but no. You wait to see how bad Sunday is before doing that. They would look at it as a galvanising opportunity for them if they could get a performance, otherwise Monday might be hard if what we hope happens, happens!

It's going through my head that football is a strange game and this derby is a leveller... and Manning could immediately get a massive Get Out of Jail Free card by winning.
Can't help think it's going to be a 1-1 draw.

I agree, on paper we should win but we all know it doesn't work like that. We will batter them for 20 mins then they will score with their first attempt. Cue lots of timewasting, we will eventually equalise then both teams will be scared to lose as game fades out is the way I see it. Another Bryan Gunn moment may be needed to win this one.

Am I right in recalling the derby in the year we went down was two teams on poor form an Farke facing the sack if he lost?

They’ll be keeping a close eye on the situation at Rangers I’m sure. RM won’t last much longer up there and them lot will make their move if things don’t improve under Manning.

Would be strange to see a repeat of the game against Sheffield United. A 5-0 drubbing, manager sacked in the morning subsequently replaced by his predecessor.

Bring it on.

He'll have some time yet. To be fair they weren't bad last night and certainly didn't deserve to lose. They'll have their moments on Sunday and we'll need to put it together over the whole 90.

I think they'll go for someone like Fat Gavin Holt next (if he'd consider a go at management), thinking he could gee them up a little. Throwback to the nineties, but that would concern me marginally more than them continually trying and failing to emulate proper teams in their little back country mud patch.

I actually think we'll beat them quite comfortably. I feel we have some big game players that will thrive in the atmosphere, if it clicks could be a bloodbath. They've been battered every game away from home and just got very lucky.

Do you really believe that?

I have huge admiration for any Town fan who is genuinely confident of a win. I've been hurt way too many times by Ipswich in derbies to be bullish on this game.

Nah realism has set back in, snatch and grab 1-1 from them

Nah. Why would they do that in derby week? Lose and his days are numbered anyway... win and everyone gets behind him (plus it's so early in the season that 3pts against us would make their form look a lot less bleak)

I started watching the game last night after they went behind. I thought they were unlucky to lose and the west brom gk won the game for west brom. They're not mugs... especially away from home.
