I was at the game yesterday in the top of the cobbold and i witnessed something that i think shocked me more than anything ive seen from the fans around me in almost 50years of watching football!.. on the back row, the row behind me , infact standing right behind me was a kid id say about 11 years old and the language coming from the kids mouth was absolutely shocking..not just the F word, there was the C word, w@#n*#r, a youre sha@&ing your sister chant...every possible word you could think of and not just once or twice it was non stop the whole match. I was thinking to myself in the first half how can the parent allow that. At half time i turned around to look at them and i was so shocked to see that the kid was a girl!.. id seriously through that first half thought it was a boy, not that that wouldve made it right. How could a parent allow that?. The girl was with her dad and he joined in the chants with her occasionally!. Sitting next to me was a man with his son, who was asimilar age to this girl and i just felt sorry for them having to listen to that. I know you get bad language at football, its always been the case and always will be but hearing the worst of the worst comung from an 11 year old girl with her dad did actually shock me!

You are right to be shocked but I’m not surprised.
Children have so many bad influences nowadays - bad parents, computer games, music artists, films etc which normalises such language.
I have next door neighbours that have young kids and the language that comes out of the mouth of both parents is appalling so I suspect the kids will ‘learn’ this and think it’s ok to say these words in public like at football matches.
Sadly standards are slipping amongst our young people.
I just find it sad when I hear such young children using such foul language. In contrast, the video posted showing Philogene's goal from the Norwich end features a kid using language more akin to a young person and was actually quite refreshing to hear.
Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

It is interesting that the under 35s have a woke culture with the English language but unfortunately cannot speak or shout without using Fs and C's. The person sitting next to me at the game was a good advert for that.

Yea but he was sitting next to a right f###### c###
Yes, you are right. You probably shouldn't be surprised, but it's sad anyway. We're not too bad from what I've heard around me at matches, but it's a lot more common over here at Swansea. But then Swansea's a far more deprived area than Suffolk and has a more lairy crowd. It's a shame. These kids are the next generation of feckwits unfrotunately, unless they sort themselves out when they get a bit older and get free of their parents.
I've noticed crowds generally are more unpleasant post-covid. Everyone went a bit nuts those years and the crowds that came back seem quicker to anger. The new influx of teenagers are in larger groups, obviously doing drugs in the bogs at half time, are more impatient and getting on the backs of their own players, and leaving games early if their team's losing. I don't recall seeing it like that pre-covid. It's not just the youngsters of course. There are plenty of angry middle-aged men around too. Maybe it's nothing to do with the lockdowns; maybe it's just where we are now as a more desperate, angry and divided nation. Or maybe I'm getting old and soft.

That’s disappointingly extreme/relentless in a child of 11, but I agree with the poster who said that they allow a certain amount of ‘language’ at football, as a safe and allowable place to ‘vent’, esp at a derby.
I don’t think you should be shocked at it being a girl either. Equality means equality, and I’m still annoyed by some male fans turning around to look at me in a disapproving manner when I let loose with a one-off yell at the ref some years ago at an away game that he was an effin winker; when they themselves has been letting fly with far worse language for the previous half hour.

The English language has hundreds of words that are Slang, Funny and Sarcastic that are not used today because of Wokism. It is easier to follow the rules of Political Correctness. Instead of calling the player in yellow a right s*****c. They use the c word. On route to the station yesterday I was amazed how verbally controlled both sets of supporters were . Probably because the police would arrest someone for speaking their mind. As in the case of the recent free speech victims. Football supporters can be funny.

Genuinely no idea what s*****c is?
Language evolves. Nothing "woke" about it. Some things that were ok to say decades ok aren't anymore. It's really not a culture war thing, it's just not being a bit of a d*ck

The kid is totally out of order but it’s not down to ‘video games and music artists’, or even the laughable comment about ‘woke culture’. It’s just crap parenting.
