Love that this was played just before kick off yesterday. I hope it becomes a regular feature going forwards

Someone tweeted last week saying it would be great to have it played pre-kickofff and a good thousand of us liked/retweeted. Yet again the club have listened.

Ashtons greatest strength imo is how he utilises things like that to show they listen. It’s the little things that get a fanbase on side which helps for when the rainy days come and there’s goodwill in the bank.

Look at Norwich with that Knapper guy. Him selling Nunez to us and then doing the thing with their fans being moved for away fans.. scum fans want him out now after a few losses. Because the other stuff gave him no wiggle room. Selling someone to us was putting his whole stack on red and hoping it didn’t go on black.

Poll: Would you take a draw tonight if offered right now?

I loved this and glad the club saw the messages and listened

I’ve just listened to it for the first time ever, not sure I’ll bother again……..

Agree, it was fantastic. To anyone who thinks the club and players don't pay attention to social media, you only have to look at Nunez with his banner "just build the statue now". It's a big part of football these days.

Poll: would you rather

I think its in the "its so bad that its good" category! It is lovely to have song unique to Ipswich though.

I really would love to hear the whole ground singing it in unison.

Never been a fan of it in the past, have always thought the lyrics were a bit naff and the tune too 'old-skool jaunty' for a football song. Hardly going to strike fear or motivate.

However, when it was played before kick off Sunday, and so may were singing along, I found myself getting much more into it and even joining in. First time it's properly worked for me. I'm still on the fence overall but it was good then, and it is good to have a unique song.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Playing that, then Hey Jude.... and no "blue army - come on the Town" shouts was so much better

I was born in the heart of rural Suffolk so singing EEJB feels as relevant to me as dressing up as a Pearly King, eating jellied eels and singing Knees up Mother Brown. But the fact that it's Town-specific and was belted out by thousands is exactly what we want at the start of a match.

Why do you feel it's not relevant to you as you were born in rural Suffolk? Genuine question, maybe am not aware of some context of the song.

Only issue was the SBR Lower (at least around me) were going too fast and were out of sync with the music. All a bit too excited!

Maybe I'm wrong but that sounds far more like something you'd hear sung at West Ham than at Portman Road. Who is EEJB anyway?

It really is Ipswich's unique song. One where nobody else even uses the same tune.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Love to hear EEJB on an away trip but that BLLLLOOOO Army chant can be shoved right up the their hoop.

Can guarantee that some mofo will shout it whilst right next to me too.

Please note: prior to hitting the post button, I've double checked for anything that could be construed as "Anti Semitic" and to the best of my knowledge it isn't. Anything deemed to be of a Xenophobic nature is therefore purely accidental or down to your own misconstruing.

As a young teen I bought this record in the early 70's and played it over and over on my Dansette record player. The lyrics are for ever seared into my mind. It was great to have my son and grandson singing it along side me on Sunday.

It came as quite a surprise to me when I found out many years later that I was very distantly related to the writer (Gerald Hicks). According to my family tree on Ancestry we are 6th cousins!

As much as I like EEJB, Hey Jude was still belted out at least twice as loud.
