Are we worrying about Egeli yet? 22:18 - Oct 17 with 5017 viewsDegausser86

For the cash, is it going to just worry him and get in his head and it's never going to happen or have we seen glimpses yet? I don't feel like I've seen glimpses yet?!

I've not seen anywhere near enough yet. Hope McKenna does...

He looked like he was hiding at times tonight, mind you he's not getting any service, everything goes down the left.

He's 19. Maybe we should give him some time? He's only been in the country for a few weeks.

If we pass him the ball a bit it might help.

We are so loved up with our left handside we refuse to entertain the idea of hitting egeli.

Most frustrating also he was free at the back post 4 times in the first half and we kept clipping it to hirst and hitting the defender.

He hasn't got going but he's young and it's very early days.

Truly impaired.

No one of the least worries 19 moved another country yes I know he played in Denmark. Lad needs time. I'm more concerned in McKenna able to get things right.

Regardless of how much he cost he is still a 19 year old who has just started playing football in this country. Maybe a longer term prospect but nobody should be writing him off just yet.

No.

He shouldn’t be starting really though, he needs time to develop and adjust.

It’s just that McAteer is so poor, Ogbene has been chucked out on loan, and Burns is injured still.

No. He’s a teenager and one for the future. That he’s being expected to impact games now is ridiculous (be that fans’ expectations or KM thinking he’s a nailed on starter for a tough away match). He needs to be nurtured, developed, protected.

Cajuste did one specially. The comms said he should have played davis in again which he maybe should have done. But anyway egeli was free. But Instead lofted it over to hirst and out for a goalkick

He's a young lad new to the country, you'd expect he'll take more time than anyone to get right up to speed. Easy to say in hindsight but possibly tonight was one for the more experienced wideman, even though McAteer hasn't made much of an impression so far.

As a more general point not great that we've spent over £30m on that side and really we're hoping that the bloke we signed for relative peanuts from Fleetwood is ready to play sooner rather than later.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Mcateers lack of form and quality has thrust him into a starting role before he is ready. When Wes is back hopefully he will be the starter and Egeli can develop naturally.

Buying mcateer seems like more and more of a total cock up mind.

I'd like to see him in the 9 or 10 position and ultimately I think that's where he'll end up. I don't think KM will play him there yet but he's still learning our systems and got very little service, mainly we're seeing him defensively.

Poll: Following Saints game, when will Ipswich have their next permanent signing?

Granted, but 20 million. Most expensive championship player. Don't you expect him not to take 10 games to get into his stride? I'm not criticising him. He's incredibly young. But at least a spark. Have we seen a spark? Azon has been sparky. Very sparky

He’s not had a chance - we are so reluctant to play down the right and it’s making us a little on dimensional - also inability due to play behind the lines is frustrating as no real out and out pace - whenever when get a ball over the top of through the middle it’s always going to be a 50/50 foot race between our player and defender- either defenders are getting far quicker or we don’t have much pace - frustrating game, had opportunities but ultimately not clinical enough and not very good at playing the ugly game when need to mix it up. 90 mins is up and we are still playing around at the back rather than hoofing it up into the box- that’s the most frustrating part.

You would think people would learn to give players a chance to settle in. Double so for those players that are young and come from abroad.

If its the cash spent you're worried about...what about McAteer. That is more worrying.

He's started 3 games, sub in 2.
I'd be delighted if he was tearing it up, but I'm also realistic.
