It’s time for a large TIFO of Kieran McKenna 17:13 - Oct 30 with 3683 viewsunstableblue

“I know I’ve got a really special job here at a special club, a massive football club that I have and have built a great affinity to, and we’re in a really important season and a really important stage of the season”

Show the appreciation for what he has delivered for this club.

Paul Lambert got one for getting us relegated to league one.

Mckenna still not had one ?

Damn straight - the stripper analogy is fully apt.

Any other club in the world, his win ratio this last 15 months sees him sacked, and quite some time ago.

Bloke is one of the highest paid managers in Europe, and, frankly, is underperforming right now, dramatically.

I want him to succeed - but he needs to start succeeding - our record has been atrocious this year, absolutely atrocious.

Looking at the state of this thread it’s so strange to have people that literally don’t want to live in reality innit

You can’t even have a normal conversation without people talking nonsense and making stuff as a counterpoint. What would tifo of McKenna actually say about where we are at right now? He’d be as baffled and confused by it as any intelligent person I’d wager.

The win ratio is interesting because it shows how supportive we are, because we know the context etc but it’s not an infinite resource either. He’s even said as much himself yesterday.

He's massively underachieving this season having spent a King's ransom. He also earns millions of pounds from a hedge fund.

To double down on adoration feels a bit tone deaf imo.

The correct response feels a shrug and hope we make the playoffs and dance through it on the basis that our squad is more expensive than anyone else.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

I don't think Sunderland, Leeds and Burnley having the start they are having has helped either. Showing others that you can go up and compete, obviously there are caveats to all of this, they still all might slide down but they've given themselves one hell of a chance.

Sunderland getting Xhaka, still at the peak of his powers, and we took a punt on KP who hadn't shown any kind of form in recent years was a huge faux pas.

I still believe in McKenna, he's got a new team and league to navigate, and it's still early days, but if he doesn't get us up, with the resources we have, then questions will be asked.

I’d argue anything but top two based on spending and expectations is a failure of sorts. The playoffs with this squad isn’t good enough and the outside world knows that too.

Of course it’s never a done deal, but the idea as you say if this tone deaf response and lack of critical thinking is weird. It’s not like we are Leeds and demanding his head on a stick for pointing out facts.

This is the sort of guff I'm talking about. He's currently underperforming in the second tier with a hugely expensive squad. Let's see us get back to being one of the best in the division before all trying to elbow each other out of the way to sniff the steam off his piss eh?

He's allowed to be fallible and make mistakes without the sycophancy and nonsensical hyperbole. Some of you sound like tennis ball throwers up the road with the culty stuff.

I find this a very odd overreaction, especially from someone who's avatar seems to be celebrating Nunez.

It wasn’t a TIFO for where we are this season

It’s a TIFO to thank him for double promotion, but also the love he’s shown the area, club and fans.

Which he reconfirmed in that recent presser statement

With the Celtic rumour, the negative vibes to subs/players and his decisions during the last game…

Wouldn’t it be a shame that we never put up a proper banner for him… à la Lambo

What does that have to do with my post and what’s strange about being honest and measured? Beyond the obvious fact you think it’s an overreaction.

Well the fact you seem more than willing to celebrate someone that has done close to nothing for the club, but for some reason are dead against anyone supporting KM, the man responsible for dragging us out of the wilderness. The only reason you have this entitled outlook on our position is the miracle of us getting promoted in the first place, a miracle performed by KM.

TBF to Mullet, it's an avatar, they haven't asked for a Tifo.

An Avatar, most likely chosen not because he's excited of having Nunez, but more the fun behind the player patting our badge.

a niche perspective

Taking the piss out of Norwich selling us a player and having a meltdown is what now?

Entitled? Because midtable and the performances we have produced is well below where McKenna himself and Ashton, the players etc would set themselves? Yet a Tifo celebrating that makes sense?

Again another one putting words in my mouth, to have an argument they want, not engage with facts or what's being said. My first post literally wishes him success here and putting us where we want to be.

Honestly, you lot sound like clowns and idiots with all this talk of celebrating him right now. To call our promotion a miracle also downplays him and the event itself somewhat doesn't it? To point out we should now be looking to do it again is not entitlement it's just facts. It's like you lot can't read or won't read because the slathering desire to be "loyal" is actually a really stupid position to take.

That’s true, but also what’s being talked about here is supporting the manager during a game. It’s not a big ask or unusual suggestion. Football is supposed to be tribal. During match day it’s supposed to be sycophantic (to use Muller’s own words). I don’t see the problem with unreservedly supporting the manager and team during games. It’s possible to do that and then still grumble about our form in the pub/on here, etc.

Agree. Keep the debates in house but in public we support the team and manager and make sure any team and their fans know we do. There are genuine concerns over the last 15 months, but replay a few of the incoherent gas lighting Lambert interviews to keep perspective if the faith is waning a bit.

Agreed. Not allowed to have a slightly different perspective on it without being shouted down by the same few, basically “the gang” on here. Same fellows all the time. Oh, I await that herbivore guy voting me down, I think he is stalking me !
