Some think his legs have gone but that's rubbish IMO. He would be an excellent option off the bench. Bring him home. I am actually concerned he might go somewhere like Coventry, Boro or Leicester.

Some names there and their careers are essentially over at the highest level. Heart says Morsy would be a great back up to Matusiwa ( or possibly playing beside him), but head says might be better to leave alone. We do need a back up to Matusiwa as Cajuste and Nunez can't do that job.

Sounds as though he's had a similar issue to Ben Godfrey with long covid issues.

Regardless of whether it would be a good idea or not I just can't see a way that you make a contract work. He is going to be after a 2-3 year deal somewhere and I just can't see us offering him that.

Will he get a 2-3 year in the Championship ?

Oh, didn’t know that. Must be awful to have the skill, the age but not the body to carry on at the level your ability deserves.

Who knows - I still think that's what he'll be after. Even if he would accept a short term deal with us I personally think it would be more disruptive than helpful. The new group are coming together now as a squad and bringing such a dominant figure back would have a big impact on this in my opinion. Do think we need another CM who can cover Azor though!

We most definitely need cover for Matusiwa but I personally don't think bringing Sam back would be ideal for anyone

Alli is washed up. He’s got his dough. The only one I’d consider is Morsy, perhaps in a part coaching role if he wanted it. Not sure about it though.
| Free agents on 08:29 - Nov 11 with 642 views | trncbluearmy | Sam back in a heartbeat If he had signed a year extension most, if not all, would have been well chuffed. He had an opportunity that didn't work out, may not play regularly but still the best leader on and off the pitch we have had since Mick Mills | | | |

But that would undermine O’Shea and given the team is still forming, would a disruption like that be beneficial? It’s an open question as I haven’t the faintest idea.

Maybe. But also maybe not. In my opinion O'Shea hasn't looked that comfortable in the role, and certainly hasn't been anywhere near as effective as Samy was. He may see it as a relief if some responsibility is taken away from him. Who knows? Kieran does, I expect.

Sadly, I think that if Sammy was coming here, or if the club had any intention of signing him, he would already be here training.

Sam better at the job O'Shea is big enough to accept the 2ic role

It is highly unlikely that Morty will return to the UK in the current tax year, because he would then be liable for tax on his overseas earnings. I suspect that might have been a part of the deal to allow him to move for free, us knowing that he would put suddenly appear in an opposition side. Anyway, let’s move on, he’d have gone at the end of this season anyway.

Is the correct answer. Player/Coach role.
