I won't be posting anything on here again. I've been accused of being a Norwich fan (I'm not) being on drugs (I'm not) being on my period (I'm not) I've supported Town since 1978 when I was just 8 years old. I've been up and down the country through thick and thin. My views are my own, yes I believe o'shea is awful, yes I believe that the instruction to play out from the back even though our defenders don't have the ability to do so is wrong. I think Kieran Mckenna is a lovely guy whose heart is in the right place but I also believe that egeli and philogene would benifit from getting the ball played to them earlier rather than waiting until two or three defenders are marking them. I can't support another team, Ipswich are part of me. The happy clappers can carry on defending results like tonight's. Good luck.

A point of order, though. Lewblu said Dara O'Shea is the worst player he's ever seen in a town shirt, has been watching since 1978, and conveniently forgets the likes of Graham Harbey, Adam Proudlock and Vemund Brekke Skard to name just 3 far worse players.

If OP chooses to bait posters with hyperbole, what do they expect to get by way of responses?

I'm all for reasonable debate. I've laid some criticisms down about the game and a couple of individual performances last night, but I don't choose to cry tragedy like the OP did.

Dara O'Shea is one of the best players in the Championship, possibly the best CB.

He is utterly dominant in the air despite not being the tallest CB but having a very powerful spring, has great pace which has neutralised so many pacy opposition strikers very effectively this season, and times his challenges beautifully. His short/medium range distribution is solid.

Like every other player (and it's worst for keepers then centre backs) he makes a few mistakes of positioning or timing or judgement, a few of which lead to goals against.

To say the OPs statement is ludicrous is very much an understatement, and whilst I won't join in, I can certainly understand if some have doubted the intention on that basis.

I enjoy receiving downvotes. In fact, one of my most depressing times on here was when I received an Upvote from DaveU.

Or perhaps I'm just a bit weird.

I got an up arrow from DaveU the other day and it made me feel very strange.

No, though I see I got something like the 1,000th downvote I’ve had from him for answering a question correctly..

As for the name, it wasn’t just me who knew about it, but it’s a 🤐 from me (did Dolly seriously expect me to give it?).

….I use downvotes as a type of “read receipt”.

If I don’t get my usual handful of downies from the same 3 or 4 people then I get concerned about their welfare. They appear to be the types of people that don’t have any friends or contact in the outside world, so in a way me getting a downvote is confirmation that they are alive and kicking.

Essentially I’m a hugely public spirited social worker looking after the less gifted members of our society.

One of my posts earlier this week got about 15 upvotes, but it was the one solitary downvote from one of my stalkers that meant the most to me.

If you're saying there is someone but then won't name them, you might as well have said nothing at all. Looks like you're just making it up. Or it is someone who is a troublemaker and you don't want me to know so I can't defend myself? Why on earth would it be a secret otherwise?

I don't believe I do anything on here that would stop people posting, and I haven't had any flashing red lights from Phil to suggest anything of the sort, but I'll happily try to understand and/or apologise if required.

As someone with no skin in this game I mean this politely, but it’s a little rich to accuse people of having no life or friends in real life while simultaneously describing how you monitor your up and down votes on TWTD. Do you maintain a spreadsheet?

Why ask everyone the question if you weren't prepared to get any answers?

I wasn't making it up (as I said, others knew, at least one of whom is still around) & I resent your & VT's insinuation that I was.

The person wasn't a "troubliemaker" in any way.

Why you'd expect anyone to reveal their name, given the reason they left temporarily in the first place, is beyond comprehension.

It's only 3 or 4 user, even someone as feeble minded as me can remember their names.

Seems odd to dive into this when you admit you have "no skin in this game", particularly given that you've only been posting on here for a little over a month?

Flash in their defence, there are posters who have stayed off line because of the heat they get not saying it's because of you directly though.

I think the differences are really lets call it anti v positive posters

the anti will make a post and get abuse for their opinion, get told they support nodge, get called names, or thick or something along those lines

the anti who disagree with the positive, disagree with positive views, but imo you rarely see an anti's first reply to the positive post being one that contains abuse but more of a disagreement with the view.

But likewise i appreciate in the past i made people stay off line for which i apologise, but thought id share a view on this.

a niche perspective

Not sure I agree, terms like "happy.clapper" and "blue tinted brigade" are the mirror image of people being called bed wetters or Norwich fans. That happens regularly on both sides.
