Although I still believe this season can be salvaged, I'm not convinced by KM at all, and in the past I have called for change. What I think will happen is the following.
Ashton cannot accept KM isn't the man and will therefore give him the entire season. I believe results and more importantly performances will continue to be poor. In effect the board has written this season off, such is their misplaced belief in KM.
I do not believe we will be in the PL next season and will be in the Championship. Following a 'review' at the end of this season I think the club will part ways with KM and we will have a new manager in place next season.

I’m pretty sure we will be playoffs. I personally can’t see us finishing above Southampton, we had a chance to put a massive gap in place when they were in relegation form with Will Still.
I’m more concerned about Ashton with cash as KM though. Agree he will likely not be here next year but who knows we’d obviously still have a chance in the playoffs if that’s to be our fate.

“Written this season off”. In November. With 29 games left to play.
3 points off second with a game in hand , I’m not exactly over confident with the way we have been playing, but start slow finish strong, and the league is still there for the taking, I still believe McKenna is the one to establish us in the premier league.

My prediction at the moment would be we strengthen in Jan and improve but inconsistency remains an issue and finish 4th, behind Cov, Saints and Brum. Lose in the playoffs semis.
Would that be an acceptable season? You'd probably have to say no really given the money spent and expectations. It would see us in the mix for top 6 again the following year and not outright favourites which may suit us more. I mean it's better than the years of mid to lower table Championship.

Why on earth would you say, "Lose in the playoffs semis" when we have no idea who we'd be playing, what our squad will look like after Jan, let alone whether we'd even be in them?

You are not the only one on this line today but what is your concern about ‘Ashton with cash’? They’ve explained how transfers are done. What part of that is lies? My understanding is something like KM maps out what he wants, recruitment team finds the player, McKenna approves or otherwise, Ashton negotiates the deal.
If some of the signings are poor, which is the case with any club that’s ever existed including Ferguson’s Man Utd, then surely accountability sits with the manager as much as the CEO?
If you are a devotee of the Bristol bonehead line of ‘Ashton signings’, then Ashton and McKenna have publicly lied. I loathe liars, so call them out and ask them to reiterate the process and challenge them.

We will know if the Board "have written off this season" by the end of the Transfer Window.
Unless you sit in on Board meetings, you can't possibly draw that conclusion before seeing how willing they are to back McKenna in the December/January window.

"In effect the board has written this season off, such is their misplaced belief in KM."
This is some of the worst dramatic hyperbole I've seen it a while. We're a game in-hand off 4th (whether we win it or not, that shows how 'in-the-mix' we are), been getting a good set of results, with the occasional blip, and it has already been said there will be funds available in January. Of course that may change, but why would it right now.
Given where we are in the league, the Board would be stupid to have written off the season now. No, that crazy behaviour is restricted to fans who, quite frankly, if they're writing us of at this point of the season, are just looking for the smallest of opportunity to knock the club, and undermine the team.

Just rampant negativity based on nothing at all.
I'm not trying to be rampantly negative, and sorry if it came over that way. Based on what we've seen so far I think 4th is about right, and the reason I think we'd lose in the playoffs is my prediction would be we get Millwall in 5th who I think would do a number on us
But that's a prediction based on where we are now and with much of the season left including Jan transfer window it's all pointless speculation really.

Cheer up fella, it may never happen. You’re overthinking it, and even if you have a habit of doing that (which is fine), try to look for some positives as well. It’ll make the journey a bit more enjoyable.
(Not that I’m using a crucifixion as a metaphor for our season!)
Top 4, whether it’s autos or playoffs is a bit of a coin toss. I’d give us 40% chance of top 2, 50% playoffs and 10% lower. I think we’re too good to finish 7th or below.
