| One Small [Tactical] Change 12:33 - Dec 15 with 1638 views | Chris_ITFC | If you could impose one, small, tactical change on McKenna, what would it be? He has to impose it from next Saturday onwards - but it has to be tangible and constructive. It can’t just be a generic ‘play faster’ or too imposing, like ‘play this exact XI’. And explain why - maybe you’re desperate for Cam Humphreys to start, but is that because you think he can unlock the #10 position or because you want some homegrown talent to love in this team? The power is yours! | |

| One Small [Tactical] Change on 12:34 - Dec 15 with 1153 views | Chris_ITFC | For me: If I could make one tactical change, I would bring back Jacob Greaves. • I would forgive all and any of his defensive lapses to see us play with a left-footed LCB. • For all of Kipre’s strengths, being right-footed (and his slightly cumbersome style) limits our ability to get the ball to our most dangerous players. Leif and Jaden either don’t receive it (if Kipre is too slow to play it or it gets cut out), or when they do, they have far less time and space. • It’s why we picked Burgess, and it’s why we should pick Greaves. There’s a lot else needed to unlock us, but that’s a big one for me. | |

Hmmm, I'm not sure about that. Kippers seemed to play the most progressive passes of anyone into the forward area on Saturday. Played a couple of delicious through balls down the inside left channel.

| One Small [Tactical] Change on 12:56 - Dec 15 with 1039 views | BseaBlue | Egeli in the 10 seems an obvious one. Outside of a personnel change, I'd like to see us get the ball in the box more. More often than not, our wingers (and Leif this season) turn backwards to retain possession. I know that is the done thing these days but we have some very talented players that are all capable of putting the ball in to dangerous areas. Just as an example, on Saturday there was about twenty seconds left of the first half, Taylor ( I think it was) has the ball out wide left. We have an oppurtunity to cross it but it ends up going back to O'Shea and the ref blows up for half time. I just don't get why you wouldn't take the opportunity to create something there. | | | |
| One Small [Tactical] Change on 12:56 - Dec 15 with 1037 views | Jon_456 | Taylor play slightly deeper, Jaden tuck inside a bit more and Leif told to get on the overlap. This inverted Leif experiment has not worked. Move on. | | | |
| One Small [Tactical] Change on 12:56 - Dec 15 with 1037 views | Cafe_Newman | Lollipops: Norwich were under the cosh at Carrow Road against Saints on Saturday until a lollipop was thrown from the terraces onto the pitch and subsequently removed by the ref. The game turned on its head from that moment. Sometimes the answer is hidden in plain sight. Worth a try? | | | |

The stats don’t actually back me up (below) - but it’s personal taste, and nothing personal against either of them. I use my power as I wish! I want a left-footer. Kipre’s right foot cuts off the angles too often, and he takes too long to do it.

I think the Kipre point is based solely on his stronger foot rather than evidence. I would argue that the evidence shows he's one of our more progressive passers as was shown against Leicester. SB

I would be really interested to see Egeli in the 10 or the 9. I appreciate there's not that much evidence for him in the 9 yet, but in my view both 9 and 10 have been areas of concern this season. We have a fair few hot and cold players, Nunez included. But then, that's better than just cold pretty much all the time. I'm not going to name names, but there are definitely one or two.

We've definitely lacked any form of consistency in our forward areas. I've made this point before but everytime someone is given a start, it seems as though they don't take the opportunity presented to them. The chopping and changing might make it slightly harder to find some form but that hasn't stopped players coming on and looking dangerous either.

I like Greaves and I think he'll go on to be very good, hopefully with us, but Kipre is playing really well at the moment and has been one of our best ball carriers and slide rule passers recently and getting into well advanced positions, so I'd take serious issue with that one. Perhaps a good long term move, but not right now. The one we need is to stop playing with a static and isolated number 9 dominated by two centre backs. Nunez has been pushing up more recently but it hasn't really changed the dynamic of an isolated Hirst -> for me Hirst as a central #9 target isn't working, but he can run and press well, so I'd be encouraging him to move often to wider positions as we build attacks, particularly on the right allowing Sindre to come inside and whatever #10 we're playing to push up more. | One Small [Tactical] Change on 13:34 - Dec 15 with 879 views | FrimleyBlue | I'd put Akpom up top and retry clarke on the right. But i would ask Clarke to whip crosses in early for akpom to create carnage in the box and nunez to get to the box to sweep up deflected balls and calmly slot the ball home. If clarke didnt do that, i'd ask johnson to the job. I would maybe do things with 3 man midfields etc but you did ask for something small

So to confirm, you're playing Clarke and then Johnson ahead of Egeli? SB
| One Small [Tactical] Change on 14:10 - Dec 15 with 746 views | ITFCMonk | I think one small change could simply be going from 4231 to 433, with one slightly more defensive midfielder behind 2 box to box centre mids. As for who should be those 3, the obvious choice would be Matusiwa holding, with Cajuste and Nunez both slightly in front. [Post edited 15 Dec 21:09]

Much easier with a left-footed CB… just saying. (But I do agree, some of Kipre’s little balls into the box are quite impressive, when he gets that high. My first post was more to do with build-up from our own half - which is slow and painful all round.)

| One Small [Tactical] Change on 14:22 - Dec 15 with 708 views | Metal_Hacker | My main small tactical change would be very simple Mix the formations up a little depending on opposition a little more and be less predictable and easy to play against I'm not naive enough not to see the odd tweak but I mean perhaps a formation change for the first 15-20 mins of a game where perhaps necessary rather than the obvious Leif inverted or not inverted etc [Post edited 15 Dec 14:24]
