Maresca expected to leave Chelsea today 11:00 - Jan 1 with 2498 viewsTresBonne

According to Matt Law of the Telegraph.

Cue McKenna being 1/2 at some point and bedlam.

Nah.

As I said before, the smart* money is on Lampard.

Looks like it will just be an easy swap for Rosenoir, thankfully.

At least till the end of the season, you’d think.

….Rosenior the obvious favourite.

I wonder if they’ll make a short term appointment and then look at Glasner in the summer though?

Anyway, I think we’re OK this time.

If Maresca not worked out not sure they would take a punt on KMc. Surely would be someone with more experience. With Bournemouth dropping off a bit and Semenyo supposedly on his way would they not try for Iraola?

Bit odd. Maresca is allegedly top of Man City's list to replace Guardiola.

Chelsea will go with a ‘name’ this time. Their McKenna type experiment just failed.

They should throw some money at Emery. Despite Villa’s recent success it’s still probably a step up, at least in terms of challenging for major honours.

Chelsea I think is too big a gig for Lampard. The big Premier Clubs, Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, United even Spurs don’t fare well with younger coaches. They need proven managers that have achieved multiple trophies a la Klopp, Guardiola, this is when success usually follows.
Chelsea need a Mourinho type back, Diego Simeone perhaps finally tempted to try the Premier.

Are they going to see if he fails again? He's been there twice already, though the second time was as caretaker.

Their approach is more to do with their wider recruitment approach. Buy the worlds best young talent. Maresca, who knew what he was signing up for, was not happy that he wasnt getting the credit he deserved, given the average age of the squad.

Maresca was purely a coach.

Emery calls all the shots at Villa. He has complete control.

He’d walk into the opposite environment at Chelsea. It wouldn’t work.

Guardian reports that he was sacked because he'd already held talks with Man City about taking the job.

Emery isnt a yes man, and that is what Chelsea owners want.
Apparently he's been told to play certain players to keep their value up. The fitness team told him he can only play Palmer for 60 mins. He wants another CH, but the owners said no.

And as yet despite being in a very good position, has proved nothing. That said, if Arse do win the Premier League then great managers do it again and again.
