One last desperate roll of the dice for a team in that position would appear to be the norm for an "established" PL team.

They've also sacked Paul Tisdale as head of football operations so they won't have anyone at that level looking for a successor. O'Neill til the end of the season it is then (assuming he won't tell them to sod off).

Being a football manager is a circus isn't it. Do club owners carry out any due diligence?? It just seems so pathetic that hiring and firing is like using a scatter gun.

I'm off to do my uefa licence now and get a piece of the action.

O'Neill said he would have carried on as long as it took as caretaker before Nancy was appointed so I doubt he will tell the Celtic board he is no longer interested.

How on earth did Tisdale go from managing Exeter and Stevenage to a role like that?!

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

It's all happening!

After firing two managers in such short order, I can't imagine Celtic would be willing to shell out to extract McKenna from his contract. Not overly concerned from an ITFC perspective.

One way or another we are entering the end of McK time with us.

I don’t think he leaves mid-season tbh.

He won’t go to Man Utd, they want an interim until the end of the season (rules out Palace until the summer)
Won’t go to Celtic, not the job for him at the moment.
Chelsea - Roseinor all but done.

I hope you’re right and you probably will be but if we go up he will get poached and if we stay down he will probably get the boot, so if someone does come in for him now it’s a very fine line he would have to walk.

Martin O’Neill probably has a plant still there that hasn't been watered since he left but is still fine for when he returns!

It's about time people looked at the owners of these clubs rather than the managers, especially Man U. When are the owners going to take any responsibility?

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Why are you so certain he'll get poached if we go up? He didn't last time we went up, when arguably his stock was higher.

I'm not convinced he'll get the boot if we don't go up, either.
