| The ‘how wrong were you’ thread 16:11 - Feb 23 with 1457 views | Illinoisblue | Confession time: how bad were your predictions for this season? Still a way to go but I was way off. Shocking, I know. Prem: was convinced this was the year Brentford and Bournemouth would struggle and finally get found out. Wrong! They are both once again comfortably numb in the top half, untroubled by fear of relegation. Did not see Utd pushing for top four. Nor Spurs fighting to stay up. Think we can all agree if Tottenham go down it will be fking brilliant. Championship. Assumed Brum and Wrexham would fail to adjust to stepping up a league. Sigh. Wrexham laughed in our faces, Brum set for a run at the top six. Also thought Cov would fade away this year. Wrong again. As for us…. League placement right now is where I figured we’d be. But was expecting us to look and feel more dominant, more assured. Maybe we have been that - and 20 game form table would agree - but it hasn’t always felt like it. A weird season that could yet in autos, a Wembley final or run it back to late 90s playoff heartbreak. Truly hard to say right now. | |

Have wolves, Burnley and Leeds as my bottom three though so not all bad. I had us down for play offs so hopefully that will prove pessimistic.

Truly shocking (but brilliant) what Manning did there. I thought Brum would be up there, Wrexham more lower mid-table. I haven't been too far off in terms of us but I expected Soton, Leics, Sheff U etc to be well up there with us rather than the likes of Hull and Millwall. Like you, I was expecting much more dominance and assurance, which I guess bar one or two occurrences we have been at PR. It's our away form that will bite us if we don't make it. As for the Prem, I expected Sunderland to struggle most of the promoted clubs so way off with that and I really didn't think Spurs would be even worse than they were last year. I thought Forest would have a comedown season, but with not quite so much batsh1tness.

| The ‘how wrong were you’ thread on 16:20 - Feb 23 with 1345 views | Swansea_Blue | I’m with you on Brentford. I thought losing Frank would be one change too many for them. I thought Swansea were heading for a relegation battle, so I was only half wrong on that one as they were before they changed their manager. I thought we’d be playing better if not higher up the table. I think I assumed the relegated sides would dominate the top. Hull, Millwall and to a lesser extent Coventry have all surprised me. West Brom and Blackburn collapses are also a surprise. I thought both would be in with a shout of POs. Stoke dropping off after a good start is no surprise at all lol | |

| The ‘how wrong were you’ thread on 16:51 - Feb 23 with 1236 views | FrimleyBlue | I thought Brentford losing some of their better players believed they were on their way down so took on a cheap manager with no experience for that purpose... I thought boro were gonna lose hackney in the jan window and their season collapse around it. I thought town were gonna struggle upto november and then win pretty much every game since. | |

| The ‘how wrong were you’ thread on 17:08 - Feb 23 with 1206 views | _CliveBaker_ | Certainly didn't see Brentford doing as well as they have been, although I had them safely in 15th in my prediction league. I had Man City winning the league, Arsenal 2nd and Liverpool 3rd so could still happen, but feels unlikely, especially Liverpool. Bottom 3 was Burnley, Sunderland and Wolves which clearly wont happen although should get 2/3. There was a prediction thread on here for Championship, I can't remember who I had where but I was bullish on Southampton and had Wrexham somewhere in the middle IIRC. Certainly won't have had Derby so high or Leicester so low. Anyone know where that thread is, would be good to see how wrong I was. | | | |

At this stage, you still can't say you were wrong or right.

Let's be honest, they've been woeful this year. Also expected Brentford to struggle and Newcastle to push on. Championship I was hopeful of top 2 for us and still possible. Hadn't seen the fans being so impatient which has been disappointing. Col U expected more. In jockland Hearts have surprised me too.

I thought Leicester’s points deduction was going to be relevant to the misdemeanours, rather than get off with a relatively light punishment...

Liverpool have been honking this year. Genuinely fascinated by their decline. Salah has checked out and wouldn’t look out of place on our right side given his ineffectiveness. Guess they could still get top four and win a cup so maybe the ending will be happy for them.

| The ‘how wrong were you’ thread on 19:38 - Feb 23 with 773 views | Kievthegreat | It's worth noting that Coventry have definitely faded this year, thing is, we've not shone bright enough, for long enough to have punished them for it yet. Still time to go and plenty of twists and turns to come in the back end of this season. [Post edited 23 Feb 19:39]

| The ‘how wrong were you’ thread on 22:22 - Feb 23 with 568 views | homer_123 | Our main rival for 2nd place.. by homer_123 9 Dec 2025 17:40The situation at Coventry is interesting. Next door neighbour but one is a Sky Blue and, therefore, we talk football and we both spend a bit of time watching each others teams.
Whilst Coventry have gone off like a steam train. Recent performances have seen this ship a lot of goals, often conceding first but getting themselves back into matches. I've felt they were due a loss and we were due a performance - the two coincided at the weekend.
What's interesting speaking to my Sky Blue neighbour is that many Cov fans are critical of Lampard. Lampard has set them out as a really attacking team but many fans feel he leaves them wide open to a counter attack or open to any team with a half decent attacking group. A lot of talk about them being 'found out' of late - which does coincide with injury and availability issues but that speaks to a wider problem at Cov - squad depth and rotation (or lack thereof).
I'll call it now. They won't get automatic promotion and I would not be at all surprised is Lampard is out of job if they don't get promotion.
