Pretty respectable haul tbh, despite all the hand wringing

...but do signatures really work?

Funny really as it feels like we’ve been crap away but you’re right that’s 2 wins in the last 3.

Think most of us would have taken that.

This season really has the been the best for flip flopping of opinion and narratives. Don't know whether to find it infuriating or entertaining.

There seems to be a pattern away from gone that we don’t turn up or wilt against the sides that have an atmosphere and crowd up for it. Think about it Birmingham, Boro, Sheffield Utd
Leicester , Wrexham.

Games like tonight where it’s flat we seem comfortable so we need to find a mentality to deal with hostile games like Norwich will be.

Boro 2 points in three games

Edit. Wrexham was still an utter shambles though.

Infuriating. Definitely.

We were well placed before Saturday, after Saturday and also after tonight.

People just need to calm the fook down and remember that is season will see lots of ups and downs, for us and other teams.

A couple of weeks ago we had people raving about Boro and wishing we could be like them, and suddenly they've gone off the boil with 2 points from 9 whilst we got 6 points from our 3 games. That doesn't make us definitely better than them, no more than their good run made them invincible.

The really confusing thing after Saturday was that apparently we were in really bad away form. We'd won our previous away game!

As I said Saturday, even with that disaster in North Wales, win tonight and it’s 2 PPG against 3 sides in the top 8 or so.

Talk about a contrast in style for games on the road! Tight ground, big atmosphere, overrunning us in midfield, compared with a pretty tame Watford. Lot’s of empty seats, could only hear the away fans and a side that let us have the ball and play. felt nice and comfortable which was just what the doctor ordered really.

If we do the business at home next week we’ve got a chance to be in a nice position come mid March.

if vs wrexham we lose 1-0/2-1 its a totally different story with feeling amongst supporters.
nobody who sees their team as a potential auto promotion team should be accepting shipping 5 goals in the manner we did.

i'll vote infuriating i think - but come the end of the season i could switch to entertained

As disappointing as the end result was on Saturday, in these last 2 games, yes, we conceded 5, but we’ve also scored 5, so our goal difference hasn’t been hit by it.

We are on the shoulder, having just gone into the last lap of a 1500 metres race.

Exactly where McKenna has had us in his two promotion seasons.

And now for the kick!

I'd argue that of those "atmospheres " only the Brum one was KO to end.... the others we'd actually quelled the crowd and then through our own doing givrn them something to bite on.

I think we are very comfortable where teams try and outplay/outpass us.

Coventry was a good example. Watford last night to a degree too.

Where they get in our face, get physical, go more direct etc we then struggle. Don't think it is much to do with the crowd.

I think saturday was mainly because it was wrexham. I know they spent a fair bit in the summer and they are currently 6th too and points wise not far off us at all....... But it's that name isn't it. Shipping in 5 goals to 'wrexham' plus we lost to them a week ago, plus the fact we did get 3-2 ahead and the goals conceded were terrible as individual goals.

Yeah, if we'd lost a hard fought game 1-0 or 2-1 to Wrexham there would have been disappointment but we would have all moved on.

It was the manner of the defeat, not the defeat itself.

Last night showed how good we are to bounce back. We haven't really had a consistently bad run this season, whereas Coventry blew everyone away early season and then had a wretched run of about 2 wins in 10.

Just mad to think how far we'd be at the top if we had had a better season opening, we've had the occasional non win, but no real blip other than the opening season blip itself.
