It's right up there, for sure.

Didn't Jon Stead start his Town career with two worldies against Reading?

Not his first goal.

Nor his second.

He’d scored in the semi, and also a late winner against Fulham. Possibly others.

Was Geraint Williams’ goal “from the halfway line” (away at either Reading or Swindon) his first for the club?

Adam Tanner's debut goal v Leicester was pretty good.

Fulham was his debut IIRC, off the bench to score a late winner in a huge 1-0 win.

No, what a wonderful moment that was but he'd had three or four already – Derby, another home game (Blackburn?) and the overhead kick at Spurs all spring to mind.

Ahh yeah you're right, he scored against Derby.

I was at his debut, Sunderland away. Lost 1-0 to a Phillips penalty and Finidi had an absolute stinker.

Boncho's bicycle kick v Blackburn? It wasn't the most spectacular bicycle kick, but it was still a bicycle kick.

Whilst I admire your dedication to the 'Jay Tabb mention klaxon' going off, that wasn't his first goal (neither was the one I posted, as he scored 1 the previous season whilst on loan, but it was his first after signing pernanently).

His first competitive goal for Ipswich was at home v Leeds in 1994.
