Might win the league.

Not sure I’ve seen anyone win the league like this before though.

Get ahead and then grimly defend. It’s fecking rubbish.

Maybe the Everton teams mid 80s.

You must remember “boring, boring Arsenal” under Graham? Did they win the league though during his time? I’m not sure, but this is classic Arsenal. It’s not normal recently that’s for sure.

I find the top of the PL a tad dull - it could ho down to the very last match but I still wouldn’t care less. But the relegation battle is a lot more exciting, especially if Spurs don’t win tomorrow.

Oh yeah, there was that arsenal. My memory of Graham’s arsenal was of them kicking absolute lumps out of you.

I quite liked that team. They did win the league.

He won the league twice did “One nil to the Arsenal”.

They did enjoy playing the offside trap.

1988-89 and 1990-91 were George Graham's title winning seasons at Arsenal

Even though I remember it the article has to be wrong.

Everyone knows that football started in 1992.

If the choice is between Arsenal or Manchester City... I'll happily accept Arsenal doing it whatever way they can.

Adams, Bould and Linegan were defo quite agricultural.

There were rumours that Ipswich signed the wrong Linegan (they were brothers) - probably completely bollox but be interested if anyone can confirm or deny.

It’s a funny old game saint … I do recall back in the early 2000’s to mid 2010’s roughly, the Arse were extremely popular in Europe over all other English teams, they loved ‘em… exciting and exhilarating was how they were viewed…. But didn’t really win anything.

I believe Andy was already just established at Norwich (one division higher than us) when we bought David so is probably bollox. Andy was the better player, but David was solid enough and helped get us up and did okay in the shiny new Premier League. We hung onto him too long though as he was a bit of a liability by the time we were relegated.

I'll always sweetly remember Linegan chasing a long ball with Robert Rosario and one wag in the North loudly shouting (to much amusement) "It's a Donkey Derby!"

Arsenal have actually had a reputation for dull, defensive football for most of their modern history - certainly through the 1960s and 1970s, reaching its apogee under George Graham in the 1980s and early 1990s.

Which was why it was always quite amusing for us older fans to see them converted into poster boys for beautiful football under Wenger.

Seems they might just be reverting to type now.

Watched some of the second half of their match last night and was the perfect antidote for insomnia. I fell asleep and woke up at a quarter to one this morning.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

The Arsenal 'invincibles' 2003-04, when they won the league

Every game they were setup to achieve a 1-0 win, with the structure of defend for a 0-0 and score on the break, the most boring team ever. However, given they won the league and never lost a league game that season, I suppose Arsenal fans aren't going to complain.

I still think its ironic that Arsenal fans were worried Liverpool would equal that not losing a game record this season, given the £millions they spent at the start and the fact they only lost 4 games last season. No need to worry Arsenal, Liverpool proved spending millions doesn't equal success.

Think this is being overdone a bit - they're joint top scorers in the League, were top scorers out of 36 teams in the Champions League Group stage, and have scored 8 in 2 FA Cup games.

They've found it a bit of a struggle in the last few weeks, but people seem to be a bit miffed that rather than choke, they're now grinding out the points they need to win the league.

Chelsea under Mourinho 1st time were very much like that, Arsenal under Graham?

I'm glad people have finally caught up. I said to some people at the start of the season, they're good, but really dull. I tend to not watch any of thier games.

The defence is pretty solid (despite the last few weeks) and they have enough upfront (and from corners) to beat a lot of teams.

It started a few years ago, but I don't like all this "blocking" in the area etc as lets be honest, they're fouls. But for some reason it gets let go and they've taken advantage of it and everyone else is playing catchup.

Poor old Arse. Spend 3 seasons being beautiful but choking at the end. Now they've found some bollox to win when they should draw or lose, people call them ugly.

Still think you're being a bit harsh (how will you live with my disapproval!?).

Almost every game Arse play this season, they're up against a low block (even the Man City game), so not sure how any team's meant to play free-flowing football against that.

Last night, once they scored saw Arsenal play very defensive but although they do have a great defence they can play exciting attacking football shown by their goal difference which is way better than everyone elses at +37 and you don't get that sort of goal difference by being an all out defensive side. I think more credit has to go to Brighton for they way that they reacted and kept attacking for the equaliser showing why they have only lost 3 games at home this year. It is just getting to that point in the season when the 3 points however you get them are more important that the style of play .
