When players keep diving in the box, it's little wonder the ref doesn't give us a penalty. I haven't seen the replay so don't know if it was a foul in the dying seconds there.

Poll: If KM goes now, will you applaud him when he returns with his new club?

What a daft statement. For a half decent / good referee, it’s doesn’t matter. A good ref awards the fouls when made and doesn’t when they are not, he doesn’t not award one because of other attempts.

One of main tactics today did seem to be diving.

Much easier to just take the net off like Egeli.

Referees are human and will get things wrong sometimes. It's so subjective too - just watch "ref watch" and see them all arguing over things like the one on Chaplin against Leicester last season.

If players simulate it will make it more difficult to tell when they aren't doing so. You can excuse a ref not giving a decision if the same player has been throwing themselves around all match. The same can be said if a team does it collectively.

Every decision should be atomic.

It was a penalty, no excuses for the referee here.

True but I’ve seen this ref twice now. Vs Preston and now Leicester. He was very poor in both, so if he has had only 2 poor games this season I have been (un)lucky enough to see them both.

I understand that. I think a poor ref ends up with more simulation too because players know they might get the decision and that they won't get them when they should. It becomes a bit of a vicious cycle.

I would hope a referee would be able to tell the difference between Azon throwing himself to the floor constantly and Kipre getting wrestled.

It was, and Mehetmi and Leif were at least 50/50 shouts as well.

The only Muff in Town.

I was pretty confident it was a foul live and judging by the reaction it seems likely, but I sympathise with this view. The Azon dive earlier on was an absolute disgrace, he worked so hard to get the ball into the box and suddenly thought he was still in Spain/Italy and tried to buy a penalty instead of trusting his limited footballing ability and actually trying to create a goal.

We should have had 50 penalties today.

Apparently it's the same ref who gave us a last min penalty v Preston.

Unfortunately you have to accept these decisions or go with the VAR option. im sure many people moaning will say VAR is sh!te too. You can't have it both ways.

If the ref doesn't see it, he doesn't see it. I haven't seen it but Scott Minto on the radio said he probably didn't see it (presumably it was crowded?)

This will be unpopular but it's about time someone called out Azon on this. I've rarely seen a Town player throw themselves to the floor so readily and in such an unconvincing manner. He makes Joe Garner look like an honest pro. You can't score if you're on your backside waving your arms around.

Although according to Phil, Leicester had a decent penalty shout turned down in the first half.
With players constantly going down at the slightest touch, no wonder referees sometimes don't give spot kicks when they should, especially when a team is obviously desperate for a late goal.

Re the earlier dive, I thought the same in real time. With the benefit of the replay I think he's unbalanced, moving at speed and clattered by their player (albeit completely fairly), so IMO it's not as easy to stay on his feet as it first appeared.

And for those who dont think we try to cheat, wake up.

Fair but with no VAR you can usually bet on a championship ref to say no to most things. Frustratingly towntv didn't show a proper replay. Choudhury had a wry smile though.

Refs make mistakes, nothing new there, and the more decisions they have to make the greater the chances that they will get it wrong.

So if players stop the simulation cheating deception dishonesty etc the ref has fewer decisions to make and less chance of a wrong decision.

Unfortunately players these days get the officiating they deserve.

Never forget that in April 2021, for ITFC, the Game Changed.

Players have been trying to cheat since the beginning of professional football.

I wasn't around when professional football started in the 19th century but I can say, over the last half century that I've been watching, cheating has got worse.

Had a close view of the Davis one. Leicester player definitely caught him with a very high foot. Leif made more of the contact than he should but it’s one that had VAR reviewed it, it would most likely have been given.

I'm inclined to agree. Should be fined every time he does it to break habit. It's a tactics that doesn't work so he needs to be forced to remove it from his game. It still does not excuse the Kipre decision.
