I agree, a strange guy who tries a bit too hard whilst realising he’s probably only going see out a few months of whatever ridiculous contract they’ve given him.

Introduce this weird centre circle team huddle and hope someone remembers you as some sort of revolutionary, quirky, peaky blinders type maverick who thinks outside the box.

In truth, he’s just the latest fodder to pass through the Chelsea management mincer, where stats bots dictate who they buy, who can play and how many minutes they’re allowed.

My main fear is that he’s the sort of no-substance bullshi* chancer that might just resonate with MA once KM leaves.

In what way? Is MA a chancer?

Rosenior does come across as a bit odd, but he’s done ok at Chelsea so far. However I did watch yesterday’s game and I thought they laboured. Newcastle defended well and put in a classic ‘away’ performance and Chelsea didn’t ever look like getting through them. That was down to them.

Delap played second half. He put himself about a bit but he doesn’t look the prospect he was being touted as a year ago. He has time on his side.

Lastly, that huddle thing. Why didn’t the players go somewhere else and do their little pep talk? The ‘we own the ball’ thing is a but pathetic really. Or why didn’t the ref pick up the ball and walk away? For me it was a lot of childish nonsense.

I couldn’t care a less if he sounds like Darth Vader or Lord Voldemort. Don’t want to listen to him and I’m not sure I’d have liked working for him - I always had trouble keeping a straight face when listening to or talking with bullsh1t bingo merchants.

Does he do a decent job is the only question. On balance, I think he does.

The same will apply to Rosenior though Chelsea’s mad politics will probably mean he’s kicked out sooner rather than later. I’m not sure I’ve ever heard him speak (or listened) - I’ll listen out for him.

Those three minutes don't seem weird to me, managers make points in favour of their side almost all the time.

I'm not sure if Churchman's comment about politics referred to Rosenior or someone else but I Googled 'Liam Rosenior's politics' and found this Guardian article. I liked him before but I like him a whole lot more now:

https://www.theguardian.com/fo

“You are the reason why my daughters – who are US citizens – ask me: ‘Why does the President hate black people?’ You are the catalyst for our future generations to impact lasting change, not only to your corroding country but countries all over the world, including here in the UK. You truly mirror the views and ideology of a group of people we must and will overcome.”

'What they didn’t witness was that same man standing outside the Brighton dressing room afterwards, waiting for each and every one of our players and coaches to offer congratulations and a warm handshake. A few minutes before I was sat behind the technical area while chants of ‘sacked in the morning’ and ‘you don’t know what you’re doing’ crashed down on Bilic from the stands and yet here he was in the quiet of the tunnel displaying a humility and courtesy which very few people could find in those circumstances...'

“When we show the next generation of young midfield players the art of receiving possession on the half turn, enabling your line of sight to open up the pitch so you know your next pass before you even receive the ball, there is no English player who has been as consistently good at this as Carrick. Nor one who has been able to play the ball quickly, with both feet, between the lines to attacking players with short incisive passes.”

I actually think there is a really weird anti Rosenior rhetoric started from the minute he got the Chelsea job. Reminds me of the pile on Harry Maguire to be honest started by tabloids and it became peak trend for everyone to take a pop and pick up on any mistake etc.

Rosenior is a young and talented manager. He never once sounded weird to me at Hull. Quite the opposite. Speaks really well Bout the game and intelligent.

The whole nonsense thing that kicked off about him looking like the inbetweeners guy was odd. I don't think he stands a chance at Chelsea because his image has been panned for no real reason. He had a great start and has done a decent job. But anything he says is contorted. A pick of him having a pint in a pub was jumped on the other day ffs.

Before he went abroad I thought he was very media savvy. He seems to have come back with some strange agenda. How much of that has to do with the media gunning for him is another question as well.

I like Rosenior but he isn't doing himself a lot of favours at the moment. I hope he does well and wins this media battle he seems to be in the midst of.

I used to find his interviews at Hull a bit odd. Then we got BTS footage of him in the Strasbourg dressing room post match, and although it's probably how most coaches are, I found it quite cringe worthy. Some of the things he's said since taking over at Chelsea are weird. It's just a game of football, it's not that deep, Liam.

And Harry Maguire is an average footballer that constantly moans.

A sort of bugbear of mine is when Premier League players who have represented their countries countless times are labelled as ‘average’ footballers. They aren’t at all - they may well not be Ballon d'Or standard, but PL players are not average.

Surely it's the Chelsea players who are weird here? Why on earth have they gathered round the ref like that? Very odd.

MA is a chancer. His spending of our money on players has simply been dreadful. Literally only one or two players have improved and the rest totally stagnated and lost value. The Nunez transfer was cringe...Marcelino is good but when you look at what Norwich did with the money....my goodness. Mattson, Traore and Ahmed. Three utter gems and they keep doing it....why in utter honesty didn't MA flex our wealth and Aura at the moment to get hold of some good prospects. We have Mcateer, Egeli and Ogbene.
In a few years we'll look back on this period and we'll all be able to bring ourselves to admit it rather than the weird pretence of the past 18 months.
At the moment we all think that its acceptable that players take at least 12 - 18 months to get up to a "standard".......thats half their bleeding contracts and we are the only club that thinks it's cool. The budgies can't stop finding players that score on their debuts and hit the ground running and within a dozen games their value is 10x'd

We have a leadership group at Ipswich - I think the personal criticism of Liam is interesting.

People have given a much longer leash to much more David Brent-esqe characters in football, there’s a section of people out there who seemingly just want LR to fail, no idea why, maybe others have some theories about what it is specifically about Rosenior that means people have a lower tolerance for him going about his job in a slightly different way…

The problem with Rosenior is the absolute guff he’s come out with the moment he walked through the door at Chelsea. He was never like that at Hull.

The bloke has a nerve to spout all and sundry to the media about Arsenals 4th choice keeper encroaching on their half the other week - which happens at every ground up and down the country every warm up - and then has his team do a huddle around a football - to respect it - which then means his players encroach on the oppositions half.

Turned into a very weird character at Chelsea.

LR was a very likeable player down here. Seems to be a bit of a bell as a manager.

I personally think Keith Andrews is a bit of a knob but clearly he's had a good start as a manager.

if we had a Carrick quality of player I'm quite sure we'd see his type of passes.

Anyway, what is this ridiculous "let's receive it and recycle it sideways/ backwards."? You and others need to justify that sort of statement given that we are 3rd (THIRD) in the league, with a good chance of auto's and nailed on for P/O's. Is the style not working or something?
