Sickness in the camp... 14:46 - Mar 20 with 2625 viewsportmanking

Perfect f00king timing.

I swear we had this March time 2 years ago?!

Had it badly for the Blackburn/Norwich games 2 seasons ago.

To me this is a decent time to have it. Got 2 weeks to clear it out the facility before the final stretch. Mckenna didn't seem as concerned by it this time though.

Poll: Will Paul Lambert be Ipswich Town manager on the final day of this season ?

I'd disagree - all teams have a bout or two of that a season - to be expected.

I'm sure we've had it at least once this season already, although its impact wasn't that bad

What's up with so-called trained athletes?

I'm 66 and have gone through the entire winter with no flu, cold or sickness.

They train in close proximity with each other in an environment where body contact via tackling etc is common. Plus during matches there’s no such thing as personal space and so catching illnesses etc from fellow professionals is probably quite a frequent thing.

I blame that utterly pointless and superficial huddle nonsense.

I am almost 70 and am relatively free from cold and flu. When I was really fit and playing regular I caught everything going. Of course my social life was a lot busier.

That Blackburn game was probably the funniest Town game I’ve ever seen

Not forgetting they spend hours couped up on a bus/plane together once a week or so. They probably spend plenty of time together in a room, going over tactics and videos, preparing for upcoming games. They also eat together on match days. There is so much opportunity for bugs to rip through a squad.

I'd guess that most of the squad have young kids, absolute super spreaders of every little bug from nursery or school.

It'll probably turn out that John Busby brought it into the ground.

All of that plus the totally unnecessary additional hazard of constant spitting.

The indoors/outdoors thing is not simply about whether you're indoors or outdoors, it's about what you're doing indoors or outdoors, and who you're doing it with, you ninny.

I am a season ticket holder living in Kent and go to most away games. I have travelled thousands of miles on trains this season to and from games. I also frequent pubs before games, and at other times.

And I didn't catch things off my children when they were growing up.

I suppose I've always tried to avoid catching things, and like to think I have a good immune system, so my point is to question whether this is something the club puts a focus on.

Not ideal but this is why we have a big expensive squad, other teams have had similar (Cov when we played them away). Our previous promotion season every squad player stepped up and played their part- time for these guys to do the same!

Yes, it wasn't my game. Too much hanging about for my liking, and too many so-called aficionados who always to hogged the first seven or more batting places.
