She absolutely knows. She's had numerous people in her comments on twitter posting it and then even more saying that "libtards" can't handle it.

Lovely bunch of people those Reform apologists

Thanks. I'm glad she knows but sorry there's the hideous comments

Run towards Adversity.
Then get flattened by it, stand up, look around, hope nobody saw, go back to where you ran from, tell them your bruises are in no way from a fight with Adversity but you apologise if anybody anywhere somehow had anger or pain from your bruises, and then hope everybody just carries on as normal.

But just remember, it's doing the right think when no one is looking that matters.

Like TWTD forum ;)

I had 15,000 followers on Twitter I think. A mix of friends, strangers, and people I had picked up over years of being slightly in the public eye through activism, somewhat outspoken in my industry, and writing for publications.

It took me a while to reconcile with the idea that leaving Twitter (after it became X) would mean I lose that network that was not only culturally part of my online identity, but professionally extremely useful. But what Musk did, and its decay into actual fascism, hate, transphobia and more, meant in all conscience I could not stay there. Every day I am surprised that organisations (including Ipswich) as well as some (but not many, now) people I know are still on it. It is not only a cesspit, it is a useful tool of fascist recruitment, messaging, and shouting.

I am on Bluesky now, with only 4000 or something followers, in a place with far less energy but far, far, far less anger and hatred. I miss the Twitter of 2016 or so, but less so the X of 2020s.

Anyway, all this is by way of saying that if Phil and Gav sell out to Elon or Nigel then that decision will be quicker than my slow deletion of Twitter/X was...

I'm really not a fan of the work and I really think it was awful that Call Me Ted was dropped for it, however I work in the cultural sector and this is really nasty - if indeed it is not real, which I suspect it is not at first glance.

AI is a real killer for our cultural sector, which is not only a £12bn a year industry (over ten times more than fishing, that Farage goes on about) but also our prime tool of soft power.

Also, if fake, if I was here I would immediately be on the phone to my union rep and lawyer.

Edit: as per reply below, when I looked with more than a glance I noticed that very obviously it's an AI plagiarism.

You’re not a fan of her work?!

Wow, incredibly harsh, her paintings are amazing.

RIP Sir Bobby

I'm not. Maybe for another thread or context. My day job is as an art critic, I'm an elected member of the Association of International Art Critics. I know art is a subjective thing, but there's also a history, context and framing that comes through critical reading. Basically, yes it's a great talent to immaculately replicate a photograph, but it's not a creative act or, to me as a thinker of culture, very interesting. Photography is a fine art form with a rich, long history. Use the photograph, it works totally fine. Reproduction of an image isn't the point of purpose of painting, and never has been.

My hobby is photography, I use the scattergun approach these days to get the occasional good shot.

But I have also created artworks from my photos, and it IS creative. That's why I do it. They are not creations worth sharing, mostly, but I do it for the stimulation of my "creative neurons".

And reproduction of an image can be the purpose of painting.

But, anyway, we digress - I still feel bad for Louise C.

I wonder how “Louise Cobbold” got the job of painting the programme cover.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Fair enough and you clearly know more than me about art.

But I’d still call it creative to be able to do such a thing.

That's sounds well above the pay or care grade of anyone looking at the cover of a match programme. And irrelevant to the grief she's getting from this. As you say, maybe one for another thread or time. I doubt we're trying to shift the artistic paradigm with these covers.
