Shout out to Ben Johnson 18:01 - Apr 6 with 1711 viewscbower

On the periphery for almost all of the season but like a good professional, when called upon he has delivered in Leif's absence.

Really like him, he's physical, 2 footed and good on the ball.

Can he play right wing?

Yes he's done well and we have not missed Davis IMO.

I'm glad he's done his job but can't wait for him to be back out of the side. Just nowhere near what we need and doesn't suit us in any way. Can't believe he was at West Ham for so long.

I was very rude about him in the wake of the Wrexham Cup game. But he has done pretty well in Leif's absence.

I think we have missed the incredible energy Davis has to get up and down, creating overlaps on every attack. But Davis is exceptional in that regard, and BJ has been a really good deputy.

Great shout. These 3 games he has filled in,given the game time and circumstances for him, he has been outstanding. Could be the difference.

Leif will come back in but so much credit.

Couldn’t be happier for any player at the club. Ultimate professional, and from what I’ve heard just an all round great character and personality.

Yes, fair play to him – and seems a lovely guy too, as mentioned above. Sure he won't be with us next season, and will know it, but has stepped up exactly when needed & if we go up he will have played his part. Speaks volumes too for McKenna's management of fringe players.

i'm not sure.

he might be seen as more useful if we go up to the prem, can provide a more secure alternative at both left-back and right-wing, very useful squad player. less so if we stay down in the championship.

I don't see a big disparity between him and Darnell Furlong at all. In fact there have been games this season where we have been crying out for a right back who is comfortable in possession and can overlap the RW (especially Egeli who likes to play narrow) At the start of the season we gave minutes to Ashley Young in that position..

I see no reason why he couldn't have played wide right when Mcateer and Egeli were bang out of form. He essentially played there last season vs Chelsea, Fulham, Spurs etc. Some of our best performances.

My man of the match today. We literally had to swap him with furlong to deal with the threat of their left winger because furlong couldn't cope. Good defender and a real threat going forward. Much prefer him in the side than Davis. Better shot. Better positioning as a defender and calmer when attacking.

Hasn't surprised me, he was decent in the PL, and I even saw him have a really good game for WHU in midfield a couple of seasons ago. Reliable and a better player than some seem to think.

I actually think defensively, he is probably better at times because he doesn't get overcommited going forward and I always felt he wasn't very good defensively on the right compared to Furlong

It almost feels like he is better suited to the left bizarrely, I guess he can invert also which Davis isn't suited to at all

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Can’t defend under pressure, even at this level, and costs over £40k a week to be second or third choice.

He has done well, and he has genuine quality on the ball, but there’s a reason he’s back up in the EFL at this stage of his career, and we’ve likely tried and failed to move him on.

Good player, awful value (that’s top money) and poor signing.

Value in signings determines where you end up, in our case EFL. We needed to do MUCH better than Ben for those wages and fees.

Always amazed supporters don’t get the finances - if he was on £10k a week he’d be great, at millions in signings determines where in fees and almost tying up nearly £50k a week - as a backup it’s borderline criminal.

Context matters.
