It may be an unpopular opinion, but I've been really disappointed with his contribution since he arrived. There's no drive in his game, no bite in the tackle and he really does not seem comfortable unless he has a tonne of space and time. Frankly, Jack Taylor has been far superior and offers us so much more in every aspect of the game.

Looked fine to me today, but also looks like a man that's barely played this season - a long way from his top level.

I was really surprised Taylor didn’t come on at half time to give a bit of bite and drive.

Not unpopular. I agree with you totally on this. Weak, lacks fight and not technically good enough to compensate for that.no surprise whatsoever he didn't get games in the PL, he's miles off it. Taylor has to be ahead of him and Cajuste.

100% agreed. Lightweight and slows the game down

Taylor seems to bring so much more energy than any of the alternatives.

He was okay as a temporary body in the squad. There is a reason he is not wanted by a club looking to get established at the next level.

No, you're absolutely right. Was hugely influential against Swansea but has completely gone into his shell IMO. Another that is starting to play things too safe having played nicely through the lines in that Swansea match.

He's a bit of a meh all right. Still a better option to Cajuste which is not saying much for either.

Hes shown some promising cameos. Think the Derby game he looked reallt good

But tonight he just didnt seem to know what to do witb the ball. He kept receiving it walking towards mcateer and then passing to furlong.

Not unpopular with me. Taylor is a better player now and will be in the future.

Sunderland don’t want him - it looks more and more like a panic/insurance deal the longer it goes on. He hasn’t added anything to us if we are honest.

I thought Nunez was a worse player tonight than Neil but hard to pick a 6/10 from anyone tonight. Overall it was another poor show and we will still be following the club long after these players are gone. Just have to enjoy it for what it is, some you win some you lose.

I’ve never thought he improved the side a great deal and just lately he’s made it worse if anything.

I thought Mehmeti and Taylor were almost dead certs to come on at half time (but appreciate that McKenna doesn't tend to make subs then)

I am sure you are not alone. Hard to see what he is bringing to the team at the moment. Does not drive forward with the ball, safe sideways/backwards passes, not seeing the passion or grit that Taylor has shown recently. Not alone tonight but just stood watching while Portsmouth scored the 2nd goal.
Not really the kind of physical profile that I thought we were looking for. I know he has not played much this season but by now he should be reasonablyup to speed. Quite disappointing.

Yeah, it seems strange to me that a top manager won't make early changes. May be that is why we aren't coming back to win games from behind.

As said above, he did against Swansea. Seemed to be a real asset. He's gone backwards massively since then for whatever reason.

I watched plenty of clips of him when he was first linked and signed. Despite knowing of him, I couldn’t say I was an expert but what I saw genuinely excited me and he looked like the ideal player to play alongside our 'destroyer' Matusiwa. He looked like a player who wanted the ball, could dictate play and most importantly couldo drive forward and get the midfield up the pitch. Sadly, I think we’ve seen that for about 45 minutes in total (Swansea maybe).

I’m sure I read somewhere he said he’s being coached into a different role or way of playing, maybe I imagined it but he certainly doesn’t look like the player who led The Black Cats to promotion from the Champ. I mentioned this on another post last week I believe where I said what a difference and breath of fresh air Mehmeti was when he first come in but with more 'coaching' he seems to have been stifled..

Jon Nolan mk2.

Saunters around a bit, pulls up his socks a lot and doesn't do a lot else.

I don't like him in our away team where we don't have as much of the ball and control less. Like him a lot at Portman road matches though. Needed Taylor in there last night and Saturday and at the valley.

Why was Kasey taken off? He was our most effective player?

I agree, really don’t rate him.

Yeah, just don't see what he brings to the team. We look so much better with Taylor in the middle.

Thought they were both very poor, as was Kasey M.

Taylor is going to be really important in the next few games.
