We rest players regularly and it doesn’t help. I suspect Kieran will do his usual rotation, we’ll huff and puff through 90 mins and the result will be in the lap of the gods. We can turn up and get a result there, but I’d put the odds of that at about 20% at best. A draw would be a great result (genuinely, unlike today). I expect us to lose convincingly. |  |

A draw away at Southampton would be a great result in the sense they are playing very well, and we will do well to get a point there. But it pretty unlikely to be meaningful in the table at the end of the season.
The only thing that (almost certainly) matters is if we manage to win one of the two games.

The absolute wrong thing to do. Resting players for another few days is physically pointless and allows mental switching off. Any time we have rested players ( cup games ) has not gone well. KMcK has rotated the players all year to mixed results. |  | | |
