You could take it as a dig if you’re so obsessed you think Woolfy only lives to attack our beloved Town. Or it could be him saying he’s happy he’s got a winners medal without making any obvious reference, direct or implied, to us. I can’t imagine why he’d be thinking about us while celebrating winning the league. I’d imagine someone pointed out to him that it could be taken wrong, which is why he deleted it. Although I could be wrong too of course.

This is how I read it too. In two of the three previous seasons his club finished second in a row, and finally won something, so celebrated, but it was never intended to be a dig. When someone indicated it could be seen as one, he deleted it. The delight from some that the Coventry move hasn't worked out as he would have hoped is slightly disturbing - for want of better word - too.

I think we all loved and adored him whilst he was here, and I was certainly sad to see him go. However, his comments upon leaving the club were just absurd, and McKenna’s reaction said it all as well. Said it before, and I’ll say it again, when you compare Chaplins interview upon his arrival at Pompey, where he spent 99% of it praising Ipswich and McKenna, having 2 days previously started for us, tells its own story. Woolfie was on the scrap heap here (rightly or wrongly) before McKenna turned up, and within 3 years he was a Prem player, who’d have been well remunerated for his efforts, also not forgetting that he signed a new contract here 6 months prior to leaving, which if it was all ‘politics’, why bother signing it? That’s where I think most people’s ‘angst’ comes from. [Post edited 3 May 20:20]

Over reacting. I’ve only seen him be congratulatory on social media commenting on numerous posts from our players.

There have been a few posts through the season that would imply it’s intentional. Good on him though. The season loan to Watford will be worth it :)

That's the Chaplin who couldn't hide his glee on Sky at Portsmouth beating us a couple of weeks ago.

Watching the post match coverage I thought it was very clear which way he leaned. But it was pretty Portsmouth centric and he wasn't asked anything about Town. In the end, the game didn't matter at either end of the table.

Didn't see it, but if he did then fair play, he and his family are big Pompey fans, and he was fighting to keep them up so he could get a deal next season. Doesn't mean he didn't want us to go up, which he did and congratulated his mates publicly ...not sure Wolfie has done that.

You still mentioned Chaplin, and I felt he was pretty pro Portsmouth on Sky considering he is actually a Town player, to no criticism. Yet a social media post, seemingly pretty harmless, gets picked up on with a snide reference to "back-up CB". I get the angst from fans after the "politics" comment. That's was an unnecessary comment from him, and naturally McKenna was unimpressed as it questioned either the amount of control he had over the team, or was calling him out as putting money over form (though choosing Godfrey over Woolfenden for the Manchester City game... jeez). And perhaps that single remark has done it for some. For me, he spoke emotionally, was mistaken to do so, but to be continually tarred and feather for it? IMO, it's too much. But that is just my opinion.

Woolfenden posted positively under the "We're going up again" post on Insta, so he's acknowledged it. As well as commenting on posts from Davis and Burns (post Southampton, as can't see a post from him since yesterday). Didn't know that until I checked just now, but he has been positive. Edit: The surprising one to me - he said "Congrats, mate" to O'Shea. If he was going to have any issues with a player at the club I thought it would be with Dara, as he took his place. I believe it happened after he left as well. I remember thinking "Oh... that's interesting" at the time. But mud sticks.

He barely played and certainly won’t play in the PL but he’s a good championship defender and a homegrown product who was an important part of two amazing seasons. He got the hump (it appears by a few comments) and left, haven’t really thought about it since.

I mentioned Chaplins interview upon signing for Portsmouth where he spent most of his time talking about McKenna and Ipswich. Woolfie spent his interview at Coventry claiming ‘politics’ was the reason for his move. I respect that opinion, and to be honest, I couldn’t give a sh!t either way. I suppose I just lean more on the side of seeing why people are annoyed at him because of that comment.

I don't think he was impressed with us holding onto him for so long at the start of the season either, when it was clear he was fourth choice CB. It meant he had no pre season with his new side, and Coventry were set by the time he got there.

It's not the first time though is it? He was still our player when he liked a post from Lewis Travis telling the Derby fans it was a shame they couldn't get all three points against us. The there was the nonsense about politics. He seems very bitter towards the current management of the club. Which is a shame, as he was a very good player for us and played an important part in our double promotion.

| Back-up CB Woolfenden trolling the Ipswich on 21:34 - May 3 with 2497 views | FrimleyBlue | I dont think he was. Just that himself personally only had runner up medals. He may however now realise politics is not why he lost his place go oshea and that it was simply that wolfy is not as good as he thinks he is as shown by him not getting in at Coventry either. Hes an ample cb cover for a champ side. Nothing more. Nothing less. | |

He might be contracted to us but he's spent the last 9 months in the Pompey dressing room. If he was going to lean either way it would have been theirs. [Post edited 3 May 21:36]
