I think the danger from this type of thing isn't the practicality or otherwise of it, it's the fact that it has entered the political stage at all. The fact that reform and Trump and their supporters see it as perfectly normal to want to punish fellow citizens for being the wrong type or having the wrong thoughts. That switch from tolerance with disagreement, on to argument and discourse and now a further step just to intolerance and shut down and if you're not on my side you're the enemy and can be targetted and othered and cut off. | | | |
