Vote Reform or get Detention Centres in your constituency 22:48 - May 3 with 3213 viewsElderGrizzly

Yep, their actual policy.

“In order to deport all illegal migrants in Britain, Reform will need to detain tens of thousands at a time.

Migrants will not be able to leave these detention centres, and each will be held there a couple of weeks before being deported.

So here’s our promise:

A Reform government will not put any migrant detention facilities in any constituency with a Reform MP.

Nor will we put them where Reform controls the council.

And of the remaining areas, we will prioritise Green controlled parliamentary constituencies and Green controlled councils to locate the detention centres.

Put simply, if you vote in a Reform council or Reform MP, we guarantee you won’t have a detention centre near you.“

They're all sh*tting their pants over the Greens and Polanski.

As demonstrated by the thread on here too and the nature of the posts by our politicos.

Private polling must be bad.

Isn't the most concerning part of this that they are identifying 10s of thousands of people to detain "at a time".

Who are these 10s of thousands of people they are going to be deporting? How have they identified them? This should be the most concerning part of this.

If anyone doesn't think this will be akin to the US's sending armed agents rounding up anyone who doesn't look right, they need to question what is being clearly and openly stated.

Ice Ice Baby

Barely trained racist thugs given free rein to detain anyone they don't like the look of, regardless of legal status

But most reform voters will be getting a huge hard-on at the thought of that policy being implemented.

Amazing that they can openly say that.

Also, are they holding them just for the hell of it to 'punish' the locals? Very odd.

They'll probably go down the route of "You vote for a pro immigration party, you can have the immigrants", rather than looking at which areas have the best infrastructure etc to support them.

Including Mark Ashton, based on the publicly available evidence as to his political leanings.

Happy for him to distance himself from such associations, but he's not done that, so the presumption holds water.

Edit for typo

I believe the stated policy is to abolish Indefinite Leave to Remain, including for those who've already earned it. This will make hundreds of thousands of law-abiding people, who've followed all the rules and built lives here, suddenly become "illegal immigrants".

Anyone else have their skin crawl with the use of the word 'illegals'? Just completely dehumanising.

Anyone who's thinking of voting for these Nazi-wannabees really needs to start listening to their consciences. That's what they are there for. We're all human beings.

There are ways to solve problems other than destroying the very social fabric of our country in some juvenile, ridiculous, half-witted 1930s re-enactment.

Reform are traitors.

Hard as it is to do, forget the whole disgusting 'illegals' thing. This is just the most horrible and frightening policy direction ever and very very Trump. Think the 'wrong' way? We'll punish you. The more you give it thought, the more it turns your stomach. How long before it's the same with education, health provision, police? Scary.

Of course Reform supporters don't actually 'do politics', so they'll just laugh it off and be happy that someone else is being made the boogeyman. Yeah, greens bad haha, let's punch ourselves in the face some more. Prove me wrong reform support, rationally debate this policy.........

So you're happy in a democracy for decisions for infrastructure to be made based on voting the 'wrong' way?

You do know that people can live in an area and not vote for the party that won in that area? In fact most do. So you could end up living in a 'green' area. So even as a fecked up punishment it's still idiot reform voters punching themselves in the face.

I don’t think ‘refugees welcome’ means holding them in detention centres so you’re either thick or disingenuous.

Well, that’s a take. How about we deport the bigots who want to house innocent people in detention camps just because they’re foreign? That sounds like a much better idea to me and would definitely make Britain a more pleasurable place to live.

So far as concerns the Greens, this strikes me as performative nonsense with the local elections in mind, given that urban areas are where the strength of the Greens lies, and there just won't be the space to build the detention centres required.

I think the danger from this type of thing isn't the practicality or otherwise of it, it's the fact that it has entered the political stage at all. The fact that reform and Trump and their supporters see it as perfectly normal to want to punish fellow citizens for being the wrong type or having the wrong thoughts. That switch from tolerance with disagreement, on to argument and discourse and now a further step just to intolerance and shut down and if you're not on my side you're the enemy and can be targetted and othered and cut off.
