A couple stood next to him asking him where the Labour candidate was. And followed that by saying they'd voted Reform to ensure Labour don't get in. Feck me, we are doomed.

Here's your chance, tell us what we are missing and why Reform would be good for the country. If you could name a few policies that we might like that would also be great. SB

Yeah go on Benters. This lot are really reasonable and considered when it comes to things like this, so you will absolutely safe in the knowledge that they will welcome your opinions. Using the same logic, I identify as a polar beer called Eric and really believe that Manchester City have never broken a single rule in the past 20 years.

People are entitled to vote for who they like. I suspect there will be a lot of disappointed people on here as the polls suggest Reform will do rather well. Time will tell.

It seems as though anybody aged over 40 seems to be classed as a boomer these days so don't be too upset by that. It's used as a derogatory slur by a lot it seems who have no idea what it actually refers to, I'm not suggesting the poster above is doing that btw.

It's not an unreasonable question though, is it? Benters is very quick to announce his voting intentions, what's the harm in outlining why he's come to that decision.

"What would Labour or the conservatives offer that will be good for the country?" Not an unfair question. I think it is safe to say that, at the moment, no one single party stands out. It's not really an answer to the question though. I would, genuinely, like to know what Reform offer. From what I can see: 1. Stop the boats 2. Secure and defend our borders 3. Deport illegal immigrants 4. Scrap ILR to Avert the Boriswave 5. Restore Britain's Sovereignty That's taken from their website. What I can't see is 'how' this will make a material difference to the UK and our current situation. To me, that just feels like scaremongering and playing to the gallery (at best).

Both Labour and Conservatives have nothing to offer, I'm not sure Labour have a DNA, the Tories are still in a state of trance from the election drubbing, not knowing which way to turn. Then you have these 'Populist' Parties that spout utter nonsense, both Leaders have questionable pasts at best and both been caught out lying. The country is broken and I'm afraid to say, from what I've heard and seen, none of the parties have a credible, thought out plan or vision on how to fix things or improve things, it's all hyperbole drivel.

Sorry not all boomers, you are quite right, my bad. But the reform vote correlates very much with age, those 60-69 most likely, with to be fair a marginal downturn in the 70 plus. A quick Google suggests you're twice as likely to vote reform at 60+ than 30-39 for example. A generalisation is still exactly that, so my apologies. I was tacking on to the example of the older gent in the OP.

It's those born between 1946 and 1964, ie. roughly those aged 62 to 80. Interestingly, polling last year suggested a higher percentage of those aged 50 to 64 vote Reform than those older than that. And we are only talking about the mid-30s per cent. I'm a boomer myself and only one person I know of that age is likely to vote Reform. [Post edited 7 May 16:39]

Before the stroke, he was a senior engineer and manager at a Uni, working in combo with high tech industry. Today he asked me if I'd voted and whether I'd voted for the only correct party - on asking, this turned out to be Reform. Turns out he joined them 6 months ago (pre-stroke in case any wits are wondering). When a guy so able and lovely would vote for Reform, we really are fcked. Edit: he's 52, for info, so not a boomer [Post edited 7 May 15:48]

They'll be calling for a General Election tomorrow once the local election results are out. Despite there is not a cat in hells chance of Labour ceding power until 2029. They have played the "Vote Reform, Get Starmer Out" message throughout their campaign and you can see some of their more 'challenged' supporters appear to think Farage will be PM by the end of the year. And to directly answer your question, they have no "how" and Farage and Tice just strop off if they are challenged by journalists on this. [Post edited 7 May 15:49]
