Cheer up Mullers, we can all look forward to services being cut so they can cover the country in flags.
Nothing says Party of the People like using development money earmarked for the benefit of the community on a feckin great St George’s Cross on a roundabout! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/art
(Edited as I original misrepresented the source of the money).

Sorry Swansea, I despise Reform as much as the next, but section106 money isn't money being diverted from a community housing project, it's money that developers have to.commit to that benefits the local community
Obviously a roundabout with a flag on is no benefit to anyone!
It’s unlike you to celebrate anything great about dear old Blighty ..
Now you’re back from your walk any chance you can share what else matters to you politically aside from immigration? I’m struggling to see what else a single-issue party offers but maybe you can help.
I asked a group of 15 year old today that if they have the opportunity to vote at the next GE, would they vote? Only 2 out of 25 said they would. I know it's a straw poll but my heart sank.

Ah, I see thanks. My mistake on a quick read. So not diverted, just not allocated to anything useful. I’ll correct my post.

I think your general point is still pertinent, though.
It's money earmarked for community developments, and that could have been use so much more productively.
We've got a decent amount of CIL sitting in the coffers at Zx Town Council - we're currently looking at putting it towards an outdoor gym, a pump track, and a skate park in a local green space.
You know, stuff that helps the community, rather than just shows off how racist we are.
I am sad about it. Not because they're not who I would vote for. I've always accepted that. And I accept people's right to vote for them and that enough have voted for them to put them in positions of power
However, this represents a dark move, that is also frightening. Maybe not necessarily at this level of politics but if it then translates into what could happen at the next General Election, if this is generally what the majority of people think is the answer... Well, we've seen what Trump has done in the US and this will be in a similar vein here. If you don't fit in with their view, if you're not in a position to do anything about it, it's not just a matter of sucking it up because you're Labour and the Tories have got in or vice versa. There will be no place for you at all. Either you conform to their way (if that's even possible) or they'll make life as hard as possible for you. As represented by that childish declaration of putting immigration centres in areas that didn't vote for them.

Absolutely. It’s bad enough the US were naive and gullible enough to vote Trump in once, let alone twice…but after a year of daily exposure to his insanity, if we honestly have an influential proportion of the voting populace looking at what’s happening and thinking we want to elect a party that not only enables but openly copies Trump’s conduct, then god fcking help us.

Personally I think Farage will look at Trump and learn from the Orange idiot

Could you not spend it on some parking spaces for your senior councillors instead of wasting it on peasants? https://www.lbc.co.uk/article/

Yes, quite. If that happens you can imagine the crowing from Reform supporters about how much they've won without realising that they've lost too along with the rest of us (except for billionaire donors who are going to have their industry deregulated. And possibly Putin depending if he's still paying Farage's people).
It's a depressing thought. We need some sensible parties quickly and we need them to step up and start putting people first, or we're all screwed. In other words Labour need to shape up, but there's no sign of Starmer even recognising why he's losing support.
Perversely, it would also be a fascinating experiment to see if Reform did go full Trump. Much of what they've said so far suggests they would like to, although I'd be hopeful our systems and institutions would be more robust in reigning in their worst efforts.
Now you’re back from your walk any chance you can share what else matters to you politically aside from immigration? I’m struggling to see what else a single-issue party offers but maybe you can help.
That patently complete rubbish and pretty insulting to Mullers. Sad to see.
Appreciated old boy, but it's only insulting if I value the opinion of someone giving it. The dregs of TWTD hoping for a chance to rile people up because they have nothing else can get f£&£ed can't they?

There's a bit of the "shy Tory" phenomenon mixed with the fact they so very openly broke the country.
It's worrying that people vote for such openly corrupt and heinous people, especially when they are the reason their lives are so much worse. Ultimately though many people are selfish and vote selfishly.
They think somehow they'll be ingratiated into the fold or receive the make believe favour these people are offering. It's the young who suffer most from thigns like this and that causes a ripple effect for generations.
