Funny as f*** if they subsequently get booted out.

Time for the EFL to prove they're not paper tigers.

What was the defender doing? Could have headed it away.

| Balls (n/t) on 22:43 - May 12 with 576 views | skinnybob72 | On the basis that Soton are found guilty of spying / cheating, what is the punishment? If they go on to gain promotion they trouser the best part of £200m - a fine even of £5m, which will never happen, is meaningless. Can the PL give them a points deduction? Seems unlikely. So, basically unless they are kicked out then they will prosper from cheating. | | | |

It won’t happen. Who would the EPL prefer as next season’s fodder? Middlesbrough, Southampton, Hull or Millwall? Given the obvious answer it sort of explains why Southampton got every decision and why they will get no more than a £200k fine even if they are found guilty. If Hull think they’ll get any change at Wembley, dream on. In terms of the game, Middlesbrough were done by the second half and offered little which is a shame. When they are in full flow their team play some great stuff.

And other fans will forever wonder how much of the superb form after Eckert took over was down to spying rather than tactical acumen.

I doubt the spying made any difference at all, but that’s not really the point. The question and the smell of it will linger, especially when they are let off with a nominal fine which validates your point.

Must be one hell of a spying network, bearing in mind they were also eight minutes away from outwitting Pep’s serial PL cheats in the FA cup semis, having sorted out Arteta’s PL shithousers in the previous round. [Post edited 12 May 23:07]

Hold my beer says Hull! Boro had nothing completely faded in the second half. Whether we like it or no and with a flukey goal.. well the better team won imho. This game really showed me how badly important it was we didn't end up in the playoffs especially after the surgery needed in our midfield space.
