| Ogbene 12:41 - May 16 with 2207 views | jasondozzell | Hope we do keep him. Fit and firing his pace and directness could be very useful. Seems like a really nice guy too. Horrible luck with the timing of the injury. KM looks after players and if thinks he can help us... | | | | |
| Ogbene on 12:46 - May 16 with 1765 views | StokieBlue | I don't really see it. He couldn't even make the Sheffield United squad when fit could he? Any actual evidence that he can do anything in the PL? I don't think KM has said he thinks he can help us in the PL has he? SB | |

| Ogbene on 12:52 - May 16 with 1740 views | Herbivore | Can't see it. We signed McAteer to replace him and while he struggled for a long time he was really good in the run in and we probably wouldn't have gone up without his contribution over the last 6 or 7 games. We'll very likely sign someone else to be our regular starter in that role and the likes of Walle Egeli and Johnson will provide further cover on the right. Hard to see any way that Ogbene fits in our plans. | |

| Ogbene on 12:54 - May 16 with 1708 views | FoghornGleghorn | Sad the way it went, but he was mostly a speedster and might not have that anymore. There's another less-rapid-than-he-used-to-be right winger in the autumn of his career I'm hoping we'll keep as backup instead. | | | |

He was fantastic at Brentford before going off injured. The game changed on him being replaced, sadly. Of course, could have been a one match wonder but who knows?

A little bit of critical thinking is needed on your part here. Burns couldn't be shifted - he was out with a serious injury during last summer transfer window, not due back until 2026. How precisely could he have been loaned out? So with Burns the option was deregister him - and that would have kept Burns out until at least February 2026, and potentially the whole season, if we couldn't move someone out in January to free up a spot for Burns. So KmK's comment is very plausible.

Absolutely. Add to that the facts that there was no recall clause in Ogbene's loan, Ogbene struggled to make an impact on loan, and McKenna was trying to buy yet another right winger in Azeez in January, and the picture is surely extremely clear. Clear as to Ogbene's involvement that is. No idea to what extent the others will stay or play. We've spent a pretty penny wide right, over and over, and the consensus seems to be that nobody has been an improvement on Burns, and yet it may well be time for Burns to move on...
| Ogbene on 14:06 - May 16 with 1178 views | jas0999 | The sad reality is we will need to sign quite a few PL quality players. To do that we will need to offload players - hence why CC has sadly departed the club. Ogbene wasn’t considered good enough to even be on the bench at a championship club. Sixth in the pecking order behind five other loanees. I simply can’t see how he will be part of our PL squad. We will look to recruit better I’d have thought | | | |

"...Ogbene struggled to make an impact on loan..." That's disingenuous at best. He started in every game but 1 (and came on in that game off the bench) as soon as he could after the loan signing (he couldn't play in the first, as it was against us). He did very well for them in most of the games, being amongst the higher rated players in many of those games. Then he was injured during the international break (coming off for the RoI when he was outstanding), resulting in 3 months out injured. By the time he was back, Wilder had adjusted the system a bit and Andre Brooks had established himself on that side. For me the main concern is his injury record. [Post edited 16 May 15:10]

Can't believe you have been down voted for saying we need quality players signing. There are going to be some very disgruntled fans next season when getting a 5-0 slapping every week whilst trying to shoehorn in Ogebene into the squad when he couldn't even get a game for Blades.

That makes little sense really. If we needed someone 'now' (as in, the start of the season) why was an unfit Burns (who lets face it came back quicker than a lot of people expected) a better option at the time than Ogbene? McKenna clearly made the choice that he thought we were better off with a chance of Burns playing 1/4 of the back end of the season than having Ogbene right there and then. So, I actually agree with your second paragraph but still think Kieran was being diplomatic with his reasoning rather than saying I prefer someone who is currently crocked over you.

No, I disagree. It made sense to deregister Burns till Xmas. He couldn’t play. And keep Ogbene. Who was fit, and had every change of being needed. McAteer and SWE were both new. With Ogbene, more time to gradually bed them in. Then see at Xmas which three of those four to keep, and which one to send out on loan, if any. We didn’t. McKenna obviously didn’t rate Ogbene.
| Ogbene on 17:00 - May 16 with 603 views | southnorfolkblue | Rather give Wes a 2 year contract tbh. He’s been unlucky with injuries no doubt, but hes had an uninspiring loan at the Blades. Really don’t see a way back for him here personally | |
