'Given that observing training is allegedly a widespread practice there needs to be a holistic investigation. The club need to push hard for this.

Someone then also needs to look at statistical anomalies like the crazy number of penalties Ipswich received this year.'

Deary me.

We had two tricky wingers who people liked to foul and, being honest, were good at going over easily and making it look good.

We're a bit of an outlier this season but nothing crazy compared to teams in other seasons.

The couple of soft ones we got towards the end of the season are more than balanced out by a few stonewallers that weren't given. We tended to dominate most games (despite what some of our fans would say) and spent most games on the front foot, when that happens then you are going to spend time in the opponent's box and you're going to draw fouls. We also conceded a decent number of pens, one of which was a shitshow of a decision, so I don't think the narrative about refs favouring us really stands up to much scrutiny.

I don’t remember anyone questioning why we only got 3 pens in the previous promotion season while our nearest rivals got 13 (Leicester) and 9 (Leeds).

If anything this year was correcting the statistical anomaly’ from two seasons ago.

Tbf, when I looked in there yesterday, the majority took a very different view & were pretty honest & rational, directing their anger at manager, board & other staff, not at the EFL.

We have one or three bonkers people on here ourselves, as most footie forums do.

Don't try and use your rational logic on here, sunshine!

Ipswitch are cheats and they paid off the Premier ship with there parashoot money to stop Millwall going up because everyone wants to keep Millwall in there place.

Etc...

Saints fans I've spoken to are just very let down by their club. Feel for them - would be rubbish going on that run to get in the top 6, celebrating a semi-final win, and then missing out on another Wembley trip and the PL.

The decision to break the rules has huge implications to the history of the club potentially which will be felt long after the manager etc leave. If they don't go up next year (looks harder than this year), they run out of parachute money, and it then looks difficult for them in subsequent years too.

Taken their lead from the club itself then who resorted to 'whatabouterry' in their pitiful apology.

A vast difference between getting decisions on the pitch and dressing up in Eastleigh gear to watch ipswich train. As for diving I can't remember his name but the German winger who plays for Southampton goes down more than Linda Lovelace in her prime.

Maybe don't turn up to the second leg dressed as trees and carrying binoculars to mock the opposition thinking you are really whacky and funny

Have an uppie for managing to shoehorn Linda Lovelace into the thread!

(and I'm talking metaphorically in case anyone asks)

But just like our success many are against people that are successful in whatever genre they are in.
It seems a disease of the British people and even spreads to political parties.
I'm not saying that some don't deserve more than a glance in their direction when the fill their boots and then say they cannot afford to give their staff a decent rise. This happened a lot under the Tories where we had years of austerity whilst multi millionaires ended up billionaires.
The situation regarding success of a team like Town in the grand scheme of things is pretty minor. Yes we have had three promotions in four seasons but the crux of the matter seems more to do with parachute payments than the actual promotions although they come hand in hand.
But it's all jealousy really, because if their team got similar it would be wonderful until I suspect they then got parachute payments.
Let's hope we stay up and maybe because we are the small fish those that detest us may want us to beat the Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd etc.

I'd say spouting rubbish seems to be a widespread practice too. Funny how the guilty like to try and share the blame out.
