Wan-Bissaka would make a lot of sense 16:15 - May 25 with 4410 viewsNutkins_Return

Ot the most exciting signing but he fits our system just about perfectly in that we need a really good defensive Right Back who is excellent at one on ones as Davis getting up and down can leave us vulnerable and the 4 at the back often becomes 3. It's a role that doesn't bomb on like Davis but does need to be able to get up and down at time as Furlong has done.

Would be really well known to McKenna so would understand how McKenna operates and hopefully some good respect there.

Just makes a lot of sense except potentially commercially as I imagine West Ham really spunked high wages on him.

Furlong and Wan-Bissaka is the solid and functional RB functionality we need.

Exciting options to follow in other positions.

Poll: Who do we think McKenna (not you) will partner Greaves with ?

Would be a fantastic signing but I think he will have offers from a more established club unfortunately.

Steer well clear. Bloke has been a complete lazy pro this year. There's a reason why Man Utd let him go so cheaply. Appalling attitude.

If Ipswich have ambition, go in and get Diouff at LB, Mavropanos at CB, Vardy as your striker, not Wilson. Sadly, Bowen Fernandes and Souchek won't be viable. A cheeky bid for Coufal at RB would be excellent business too, currently in Germany, looking for move back to UK.

Wan-Bissaka on £90k basic a week.

Delap on £100k basic a week.

Mason Mount on £150k basic a week.

Financial suicide paying wages of this level at this stage. If we become an established PL team like Brighton, Bournemouth etc then wages of that level could be possible in the future.

We need to stay in the PL and build season on season, construct new stands to increase capacity/commercial revenue although I think that’s unlikely until 2028 at earliest so until then we have to pay accordingly. £45/50k max per week is probably our upper limit. OK we might be able to sign existing PL players on loan, but only with heavily subsidised wages. Rather get relegated paying sensible wages than go into administration.

Well I can't think there's a sane person on here who wouldn't rather get relegated than go into administration. However you speak almost like they're the only two choices. I can give you another one, very clever recruitment. Right players ( PL quality ), right fees, right fit ( temperament/personally etc ) for the club. Ambition tinged with realism, not the other way round. If I were the owners I'd have a 5 season plan, with the final destination being top 6. A few stop offs along the way of course, starting with " just " surviving in the PL next season. No point of a football club without ambition.

Not in the first eleven at a relegated club due to his attitude.

No thanks.

I thought he played every week?

Still think he’s way out of our grasp though.

RIP Sir Bobby

That is always assuming with your modus operandi, we do stay in the PL. Best way to achieve that is to be ambitious but do it wisely. Otherwise we'll just get stuck on the less than magic roundabout that the likes of Burnley find themselves in. Their modus operandi seems to be, no problem if we yo yo as regularly as possible, just pick up the parachute money, and then do absolutely nothing with it. I would agree, that financial suicide isn't a great choice either. No need for that to happen fortunately. Ambition tinged with realism, not the other way round though. Remember a well known saying, " He who takes no risks, takes the greatest risk of all " Just make sure they are of the considered variety and not the close your eyes and stick a pin in type.

Quite - and worth every penny. I doubt Calvert-Lewin is on much less than that at Leeds either. We aren't in a position to be building a squad of players on that sort of money but if we want a couple of players with experience/quality that really shift the dial then that is the sort of money we will have to pay.

You both make good points but I think we should be putting our big money in our midfield. This is where we got hammered the last time we were in the Premiership and will again with our current cohort.

Would McKenna have coached him at United? May be another Axel.

So was Delap, So was Cajuste when we went up,. so was Philogene (ok we lost him but very nearly done but for a clause). Agents job is to link players with lots.of.clubs.

Many we will miss out on. Some we won't. I'd be a lot more fussed if we were going for players nobody else was interested in.
