| Jamie Vardy on 21:11 - Jun 1 with 1494 views | darkhorse28 | Yes. Two levels above what we have, even now, if fit. Doubt he’d expect to play all the time, so as an option off the bench, would be great - obviously not as our main striker. Makes me chuckle some would prefer Azon, 287th best shot accuracy in the championship, Vardy finishing wise is ten levels above that, and at this level, for us, chances will be at a premium, and he’d snap them up, all day long, twice in Sunday. Some people seem to think they’re building a champions league side, or we’ll just do what Sunderland have, because it’s easy. If we stay up by a point we’ll have done well, in that context, he’d be a great option. No need to spend 6 months trying to convince him he’s good enough - would contribute from day one. Believe he had a couple of injuries this year, but if he’s fit, someone will get a bargain (again). Jeez wonder if it’s the same people saying no, that didn’t want him the first time, or said McBurnie wasn’t good enough…, all about opinions I guess. | | | |

Totally agree. However, we are currently perhaps more beggars than choosers.

| Jamie Vardy on 22:19 - Jun 1 with 1255 views | TripSwitch | I f**in love Jamie Vardy, but no. With advancing years he has lost most of the physicality - aggression and pace that made him great - he's always been reliant on that rather than technique. Still a good finisher absolutely but he's not going to contribute enough to the teams performance as needed Last time Leicester were in the PL it very much felt that was his swansong, he was severely limited and almost used as a morale boosting sub for the fans. 2 years later we've got to be realistic he's not of the standard required as unfortunate as it is to say it Ipswich need to find somebody who has the legs to press, the physical presence to battle defenders with the back to goal and the technical ability to make the ball stick under pressure. I would go as far as to say finishing ability is secondary to those things, it's very much a functional role in McKenna's side. The stars who get the plaudits and stats are the 3 behind. May be worth going back in for that Greek striker. [Post edited 1 Jun 22:22]

We also have people calling for Mings (34) who can't manage a full season and even some even saying we should sign Webster (31) who's injuries have seen him play what 20 games in the past two or 3 years. Yet a 23 year old Delap is a useless thug and a waste of money apparently.

Yes, because the Defoe suggestion was 100% serious and not at all tongue-in-cheek because he scored a couple of goals in Soccer Aid.

It is indeed about opinions and given your post I think your opinion can be safely ignored.

I suspect if he appeared in the PL next season, he'd probably soon need first aid :)
