Please can you create a new filter that deletes any posts or threads with the mention of Farage.

If not can you give me a way that I can hide them?

Quite honestly I’m sick and tired of coming on to this site and forum to get my Ipswich town news, insights, and discussions that is now being highjacked by people’s political persuasions.

Thanks from Sweden, Uppa Town!!

In some ways I can't help but agree, the only thing being, if you start trying to stop people having their say about something, you start going the dark road of preventing free speech etc and that rarely turns out well. If any such filter did get applied however, I'd add any politician to the list, as I can't stand any of them, and If I had my way this country would be run a totally different way, with no Political parties. As that's about as likely to happen as me being the next man on the moon, I'll just settle for passing by such posts.

Tbf. Had the club not hosted him and tried to cover it up you wouldnt have to worry about it. Your annoyance is aimed at the wrong people.

It’s honestly not, I’m an Ipswich supporter who wants only the best for our club. It’s very clear that to me that whenever anything slightly negative happens at the club we come back to the political mishap/f**k up which seems to tarnish everything good the club has done since the takeover. It may mean a lot to some people and I respect that but please you’ve made your point, move on, be positive and support the boys in blue!!

No Sh*t Sherlock, would be nice if everyone who wants to talk politics could put it in there rather than hijack every bloody thread!!

Alternatively we could mark any posts with reference to this political mishap/F*** up with a reply of FG (FarageGate) just to show how unhealthily it’s being represented on this “Football” forum or constantly repeated but certain posters?

Many valid replies to this. My only suggestion is to block posters that talk about him. After a while it might be quite effective.

If you blocked every football thread that had mention of ‘the incident (TM)’ somewhere in it, almost every thread in the football section would end up hidden

Perhaps being in Sweden you don't fully understand how annoyed many people are about what happened and they should be free to voice that opinion.

Saying their views should be deleted or censored isn't great.

Up and down arrows suggest otherwise, people are bored of it

It’s the same 5 or 6 posters ( not actually that many) who think they are the majority

Blocking them might be the only way to stop going insane

McKenna left = Farage
Squad numbers = Farage
it’s raining again = Farage

It’s never ending nonsense

Its nonsense to you because youre not bothered about it happening

Some feel different. Some incredibly strongly about it. It is entirely possible to support the club whilst being and yes still being unhappy with what happened.

My gripe with the situation is actually less about who met who its about the cover up and the lies fed to local journos and we endorsed the reform party itself by allowing our clubs logo, sponsors, ground and kit etc to be part of their socials. Thats why i dont talk much about the farage stuff itself but i understand there will be some that really dont like that it happened. And for some it will always be something that really annoys them.

Well done for starting another one 👍🏼.

Email the admin if you’ve a genuine suggestion to improve the site. You’ve just started another argument that you’re complaining about.

Well done.

It probably was a factor in KM leaving. It’s clear it was likely part of a broader breakdown between Ashton and McKenna - telling him he was sacked if we didn’t go up through any third party is at best not very professional.

Nobody with self respect would take that well. It’s not how good relationships work, even if KM was aware of the situation.

So losing a manager with three promotions in four years, who clearly means a lot, to a lot of people, is a big thing.

It’s huge for the club. And it might be a positive outcome for sure, but it’s not how any of us should want the club to run its business…, it’s not who we are to have our only football exec doing our business through a senior politician - any politician - to develop his status above the clubs needs.

That’s really important we talk about it, don’t bury it, and learn and make people accountable.

You can argue it’s not the end of the world. You can’t argue as a club, we don’t need to do a lot better than that if we want success.

Many mangers would have walked there and then! MANY. It was only the connection and stage of the season that I suspect kept KM here .., and it’s only his respect for the club, not damaging our brand, and his financial and future career that stopped him saying exactly what went on.

People always tell you what they don’t want you to know. Always.

Marks interview in talksport was damning. ‘We often put the world to rights over coffee, and we often disagreed’ - that’s healthy, what Mark did was break that trust. It was dogmatic. It was I’m bigger than the club. And it made KM look like he wasn’t a stakeholder in our culture.

That’s important.

If we ignore it. Mark will do it again and again and again…., he isn’t bigger than the club, and support doesn’t look like ignoring things because they are difficult.

Support (to me) is growing through the pain and mistakes, and acknowledging them, that’s elite.

Hiding. That’s never elite, you never learn, you never grow. You never improve.

Mark hasn’t even acknowledged the mistakes .., the lies continue. Kemi and Kier aren’t coming are they.

That’s the issue. It’s about integrity. Trust. Respect. Not politics.

Without those you have nothing…, that’s why we lost KM or a big part of it, although I’m sure there’s lots of factors, that trust had gone. That is important.

Think that time will for many. For some maybe it wont. Its still quite raw and theres not much positive news fed out since promotion which hasnt helped.

That's fair, and good that you admit that personal politics plays a part too, which others with right leaning views don't.

Fwiw I took a view weeks ago that any further grumbling on the matter is pointless, so largely leave it be now.

Ashton is permanently tainted in my view, but he is staying put so not worth me griping any more!

Ashton will have to something pretty bad to go ( like Sullivan at West Ham)

He’s not going anywhere, but I agree people see him differently now
