Too many people in this country both in general and in the media specifically take some kind of perverse pleasure in finding fault, and knocking people down.
On the latest one Stokes is far from innocent and admitted he went out after curfew and had some drinks but some of the vitriolic criticism that gets published and shared makes me wonder quite why people ever want to represent this country in sport.
I for one will miss him leading out the England team, he always seemed to be able to lift the team when needed. That golden summer of 2019 will always have some of my favourite cricketing memories. | | | |

In this instance I wonder whether the announcement was brought forward following him telling his team mates at start of play.
