It'll be interesting to see whether they genuinely listen to the fans, or whether this will be a PR exercise before foisting some minimalist modern crap on the fanbase.

The club will want something more simplistic, that can be easily used in any situation they want.
It wouldn't surprise me one bit if the simplified badge on last season's third kit is a step in that direction. You might have noticed, as well, that the badge on the new fanzone gates in the planning documents is the 'horse only' badge, rather than the current 'full' badge.
Notwithstanding the slight modernisation of the badge in 1995, our badge is one of the longest-standing badges in the whole of the Premier League and EFL. | |

The 1995 update came under a fair bit of criticism back then in a pre social media world. I’m sure the club will look to do an update in the next few years as that appears to be the trend. | | | |

Why does a club crest need "future direction"?! That led to the dumbed down design West Ham have now.
While I don't mind ITFC using the horse for some marketing, I would be against changing the club badge. I think we should always wear the proper badge on our shirts. Stick to tradition. |  | | |

I don't really understand the need for moving towards a simplified badge (and I work in branding...)
Ultimately, if we decide that our brand is strong enough to, say, use the horse without any words such as Ipswich or ITFC, then we can still use that in instances where a simplified badge is required. We don't have to drop the main badge at all.
Lots of brands with incredibly strong recognition use an element of their logo when space is tight. It's just a move towards being the same as everyone else, which is the antithesis of brand IMO. | | | |

tbf, the norwich badge did look better with an actual bird rather that the one where someone has used a ruler to draw it's back. | | | |
