He’s 26 (March), can he improve on what we’ve seen to date?
At times last season he really linked our play very well. And some games showed some real quality on the ball. He can be an intelligent player.
But at other times he showed some flaws and he lacks pace. Can he be a goal threat?
I would expect we’d sign a new number 10 and central midfielder so he becomes an impact sub.

I’ll happily admit I’m wrong, but I think he can play Premier League level.
On the plus side, he is a progressive forward thinking player. Backwards passing? Sometimes but he likes to probe forward. He’s good at it too. He’s never going to make an Olympic 100m squad but he has quick feet and good awareness. He’s also useful with corners etc. He is feisty, lots of courage and a big personality.
Downside apart from pace? Not the biggest and can be wasteful - something you cannot be in the PL. I’m not sure we saw him at his best last season because the team was not settled but forming.

He was too inconsistent. When he was on it, absolute baller. But there were times his ball retention was very poor. He's got an excellent engine on him.

After the hype and excitement he was a bit disappointing. Very inconsistent and did not really get any flow of form going , Decision making not the finest, bit headless at times. Bit of a nutter, but you can't help liking him. Will be interesting to see how his second season goes and whether he is played in a deeper or more advanced position. In fairness i dont think he came here to be a 10. And a 10 role which is very different to others.
He seemed hit and miss but according to our internet friend. We won 70% of games he was involved in. |  |

Decent squad option.
In terms of his ability to run all day and cover load of grounds he is maybe the best we have in our squad at that right now. He has incredible endurance, willing runner who can press for you. technically should be ok.
There are some obvious concerns though, he is pretty weak on the ball and lacks any sort of speed, at times last season he would be chased down by opposition players so easily and just knocked off the ball.
Good option for the squad, wont be a starter. |  |

I’m not sure if I suspect that, but it’s definitely a hope. I was largely unimpressed last year from what I saw. His cult hero status seems to be distracting from his lack of contribution on the pitch. BUT - he does have skill in spades and maybe could be able to show that off better in the PL. It all depends on the team. Average players can shine in a good team if things are set up to suit them. He’s not going to dig us out of a hole like Clarke or Philogene could, but if we properly click he could be a good cog in the machine. |  |
