Exactly this. TAA spent his entire career with two of the world’s biggest most successful clubs while Spence has been fighting relegation with Spurs. Very odd decision. |  |

No idea how Spence makes it while TAA is on holiday. I would also say that Cole Palmer & Danny Welbeck should have been there instead of Toney and Madueke. Palmer has the ability to change a game. I know he has been off form towards the end of the season, but he is a genuine game changer. Whenever Welbeck is on the pitch, something happens with England. Closest thing we have to Kane.

I wasn't a fan of Tuchel's appointment when it was made, but he was certainly proved right in his selections & tactics last night v Mexico.
That battling win came from the players' individual and collective passion; and their great team spirit, defensive as well as attacking performance, covering each other & putting their bodies on the line. |  |

Hopefully we'll find out what his thinking was at some point in the future. I'm sure there was good logic for making the decision he did. I tend to be one of those who is happy to assume that the manager knows a whole lot more about the players and the dynamics than i do so happy to let them get on with it. (And that's not a dig at you R!) | |

Someone (can't remember who, sorry) said a few days ago that England managers get criticised for picking 'big name' players instead of those in form and/or their being placed into the team to create a cohesive unit.
But when another manager then picks in-form players, & tries to create a balanced team working as a unit which necessitates big names being dropped - they get criticised for that too! #CantWinWhateverTheyDo re universal fan approval.
