You're entitled to your opinion of course, but a pile-on isn't always personal. It's often because the person is saying something a lot disagree with.
You have to remember we have very little top league experience ourselves. If you're hoping for players with better pedigree than this then I fear you'll be very disappointed. Why would top players from the top leagues want to come to Ipswich?

Yes, I've said that to re-iterate that I'm not against the signing, but my feeling is that he will probably be a squad player. (Although its interesting how so many on here seem to have followed his whole career 😉).

From what ive seen of his videos i dont see a prem player there. Data wise id imagine he comes top of a lot of stats but tranaferring that into the prem is a different thing and i dont see him flourishing against prem midfielders. |  |

Fair point.
Mobility is probably more important than height. if we sign this guy he doesn't have amazing mobility. Matusiwa is the same. So we need someone who can cover a lot of ground, I personally like Midfielders who can win duels in the air as well so for that reason I would like some height in there. |  |

Sounds perfect, exactly what we need.
Not having seen him is the only thing not to like, and odd he didn’t make their World Cup squad, because I watched Tenaka a few times last season and he looked well short of the quality needed at this level (or at least he still has it all to prove).
So that’s the only red flag. Guess there’s a reason, hopefully injury/form, and not just seen as not good enough.
The Japan coach I’d rate as one of the best in world football, some team he’s built, so that’s a slight concern.

He’s such a good player.
Has been a stalwart for Sporting Lisbon over the past few years. A specialist at ball recovery and interceptions, so intelligent against the ball positionally, and really tidy without being a flair player on the ball.
Best way to describe him would be a replica of Ao Tanaka at Leeds, but with a little bit more pedigree and high quality experience.
