| Morita! on 13:56 - Jul 17 by TRUE_BLUE123 | We would definitely need a mobile, all action midfielder as well. Probably above 6 foot to give us some extra height |
But do we need a 6 footer? I always like to look at the last top game I watched in these situations and I saw an Argentina midfield who turned the screw against England. As far as I could see none of them are over 6foot and still caused issues with late runs into the box.

| Morita! on 13:45 - Jul 17 by Marshalls_Mullet | We cant comment on signings unless we have seen them play? I simply said I am not sold on his CV. But hopefully he will be a good squad player. Thats OK to say. This is a forum for discussion. Peace out. |
You've said squad player 8 times now. We get it! You're entitled to your opinion of course, but a pile-on isn't always personal. It's often because the person is saying something a lot disagree with. You have to remember we have very little top league experience ourselves. If you're hoping for players with better pedigree than this then I fear you'll be very disappointed. Why would top players from the top leagues want to come to Ipswich? Peace in!

Yes, I've said that to re-iterate that I'm not against the signing, but my feeling is that he will probably be a squad player. (Although its interesting how so many on here seem to have followed his whole career 😉). Thats OK. I might turn out to be wrong, and I dont expect a host of a-list signings. It will be interesting to see what happens. I wouldnt agree that players from Top leagues wouldnt want to come to Ipswich. I appreciate the considered manner of your post. I dont feel that the view points of others were personal, but people do tend to pile on with a very reactive 'tone'. Just because a majority has one view, it doesnt make it correct. Peace. "but my feeling is that he will probably be a squad player." Really? You should've mentioned it!

Dont turn into one of them mate. I was responding to different people, so repeated it more than once. We all know how things get twisted on here, so I was careful to be clear that I wasnt against the singing. I hope thats OK? This forum is really tiring these days.

I just said I wasnt sold on it. Didnt turn my nose up. Its OK to have a different opinion. Chill beans. I know we're not playing a 'video game', grandad. 😉😉😊😊

You can do what you want, but I’d suggest commenting on a player you haven’t seen play is up there with offering a review of a film that you haven’t watched- doesn’t really make sense and offers little to no value.

Fair point. Mobility is probably more important than height. if we sign this guy he doesn't have amazing mobility. Matusiwa is the same. So we need someone who can cover a lot of ground, I personally like Midfielders who can win duels in the air as well so for that reason I would like some height in there.

| Morita! on 20:45 - Jul 17 with 920 views | darkhorse28 | Sounds perfect, exactly what we need. Not having seen him is the only thing not to like, and odd he didn’t make their World Cup squad, because I watched Tenaka a few times last season and he looked well short of the quality needed at this level (or at least he still has it all to prove). So that’s the only red flag. Guess there’s a reason, hopefully injury/form, and not just seen as not good enough. The Japan coach I’d rate as one of the best in world football, some team he’s built, so that’s a slight concern. But would be SO excited to get that Japanese energy and mentality onboard. | | | |

This is enough for me to think he'll be player of the year for us
| Morita! on 10:42 - Jul 18 with 599 views | itfcsuth | He’s such a good player. Has been a stalwart for Sporting Lisbon over the past few years. A specialist at ball recovery and interceptions, so intelligent against the ball positionally, and really tidy without being a flair player on the ball. Best way to describe him would be a replica of Ao Tanaka at Leeds, but with a little bit more pedigree and high quality experience. Often described at Sporting as being the silent leader. Exactly the sort of signing I like, it’s far from the glamour signing, but on a free, could prove to be a crucial one. Matusiwa & Morita should prove to be such a strong anchor in midfield. | | | |
| Morita! on 11:54 - Jul 18 with 511 views | pointofblue | I'm going to be so disappointed if we can't get him over the line. This is exactly the kind of signing we should be looking at. High level experience at international level, and coming on a free is amazing. My only nagging doubt is surely we'll have to sell the club heavily to him as surely there will be other suitors in a stronger on and off pitch position. | |

Same, now we've been linked, no doubt he'll go to Leeds :-(
