Love Cam to bits and he has talent. Would love him to play form Ipswich but the stars haven't aligned for him. If he had come through two years before he probably would have had way more games.

Retaining Cam at the expense of Taylor would be a bit nutty wouldn't it? McKenna gave him 10 league minutes last season, mostly not finding room on the bench.
Re finally getting an opportunity, he's had two great ones here imo. Firstly, the long run in the side in 22/23, sometimes forgotten, but we sought improvement midway through in Luongo and more again over the summer. Secondly, the start of last season, when we began the campaign with half a midfield. Cameron H is our one true player who loves the ball. Watch how the Spanish mens national team plays and he fits in that mould. If you give him the ball in a difficult and tight situation he has the ability to receive the ball, due a trick or a turn and come away with the ball alleviating all the danger. I don't think anyone else has anywhere near the ability to nurture the ball as him. Very much a dying breed kind of footballer. He should be nurtured in the game he is that good. I think if Humphreys was going to break into our First Team he would have done it by now. He looks a very good L1 player with the ability to play Championship football. I'm not sure he is EPL quality sadly. | |

To date no champ team.has tried to take him and he couldn't force his way into the champ team. I love Humphreys and I think McKenna did too. It wasn't some.sortmof.spite he wasn't played.
I hope he finally gets a run in the champ but he quite obviously isn't prem ready. | |

I disagree it's quite as clear cut as you suggest, with the likely departures. Many won't be here imo come Sept 1st (yes, it's guesswork, but that's why I said we just need to be careful, as we have to keep enough to cover the requirement, without making it so tight that it starts to influence who we can sign in future windows. It's just another often overlooked aspect of recruitment.
