I can't imagine he'll be coming. As others have said, the EADT will no doubt have gotten some information from the club in order for Alex Jones to have come out with such a strong, confident denial; his credibility will take a massive hit if we do sign him. | |

In my opinion we've already signed him, but moved him on to an unknown third club already, and it's that club which is insisting on the smoke and mirrors in order to protect a deal they have to move him back to Levante.

As someone that watches way too much football, Espi is the calibre of player where if the player shows any interest in joining Ipswich, you do whatever you can to try and get a deal done.
The Clara Vista ownership links are interesting but I would be shocked if we were able to sign Espi given he and Samu are expected to be leading the line for the Spanish national team in years to come!

I still don't think this is the end to that story.
I'd completely forgotten that Levante are now controlling owners of Levante. Selling their star striker to us not only helps their prized club asset but gives Levante some capital to work with also....
I do think Liam Delap is a good selling point for us going after players like Espi. 1-2 good years with us and a CL club comes calling. | | | |

Yep. Saw some people say we should be after an experienced striker instead. That wouldn't be a bad thing but if the choice is between someone like Awoniyi for example or Carlos Espi it is an absolute no brainer.

Definitely something weird afoot with this - two relatively ITK accounts (Fabrizio's mate and a local Valencia sports network) have posted and deleted our interest which I think would be a weird thing to do if we weren't interested. Wonder if something is happening behind the scenes as a bit of a coup if we get it done.
